I like this washer more and more. Even on eco mode it's using good amount of water. I just wish to see how well it's rinsing soap out.

@PinkPower4 I had to sell it because I have a lot of trouble with my back and it was hard for me to keep bending so I bought the S.Q. TR5 top load set instead

Right! And if you’re not doing any heavy duty gardening the TR series is as gentle o the clothing as a front loader and should clean well too and without a transmission it should last a really long time. You’re set!

Nice! Surprisingly, it actually used a decent amount of water. I wonder how much it dumbs down the temperatures when a warm or hot wash is selected during this cycle?

I know that mine doesn’t regulate the water temperature and I don’t believe that they do to this day. The machine fills to a predetermined full setting regardless of load size and refills to that setting after absorption but doesn’t use modern load sensors which is why it provides more than ample water and fills quickly.

Bruce Solomon Bruce I believe on the normal/eco-cycle even if you select hot water it will fill with a little warm and the balance is cold water I’ve tried it on my TR7 Toploader and that’s exactly what it does, hence the eco-part is satisfied. It also uses spray rinses on the Toploader. If it didn’t do this there would be no difference between this cycle which gives you a longer final spin, or the heavy duty cycle.

Brigita S this model allows you to control how long the soak cycle is. Earlier models have a preset time only

Yes but we have metal tub baffles and mine has manual rotary controls on a rear mounted panel which along with its matching dryer allows me to fold on top without socks and washcloths falling behind the machines. At the time, the availability of the manual controls with the rear mounts enabled me to purchase a third up from the bottom in the lineup selection and that brought the total cost at the time more in line with the high end of more mainstream brands. Meanwhile fifteen years later with cleaning and thorough maintenance and car polish my SQs are like new.
