A big drum break at the end of 8 or 16 bars helps make it interesting too. It takes it up and then drops down to release back in to the loop.

Hello Kirk...Here is the thing for me,and it might sting. Everyone who makes beats is not good enough, not consistently, and most are not going to make the grade. Now there's a bunch of beatminers with DAWs or hardware thinking they are great because of KZbin likes, yet when it comes to making it on Gold/Platinum records, there's a reason why the greats consistently make hits. It's nice to give tips, yet it is the same issue in the underground DJ world that just because you do routines, are fast, know tricks, does not mean you can rock a party. Now If I am doing a 7-10 hour set on turntables, I need that dirty funk. I can easily have you here when I spin, and your beats would flow into my sets. If I have Kirk State on vinyl, the crowd will pass out while dancing. I'm from the school where I'm stuck somewhere in the corner and people are passing me records or I am on a Serato set, and the dancing is next to me. Point being, there's a reason why I rely on Apex, Dre, Swiss, Kirk, and a small amount who I can rely upon to deliver. I just do not believe most rappers are actually MCs, that most DJs can rock crowds, even if they are popular. I'm just saying I have yet to hear a beat from you that I would not have in my crates and that speaks for maybe 5% of folks who think they can... What do you think about the current Akai lineup for choices?? I have been dealing with others besides Akai although a few friends use their gear so I am curious. I have 5 samplers and out of all of them, the Ensoniq ASR10 is still my live machine of choice. I have an Emu 6400 and the Roland MV8080, yet I have been shopping around for maybe two more machines...I thought about the ISLA 2400 and an Akai, either the MPCX or the Key61...

1. Akai has so many products that the consumer can as they say “get in where you fit in” 2. Yes as far as the Dj game goes a wedding DJ and a Party Rock Dj and a Turntablist are totally different lanes and should be treated as such. Like with Beat Battling and Song Production which are two whole separate lanes . 3. The ASR10 is a certified beast on and off the stage. I use to have one but sold it not being wise at the time 😔.

He's talking for a beat battle.. Beat battle has to have changes going on in order to keep the crowd into the beat past 4bars...its a competition.
