With a good budget and staff, no rushed deadlines or other simultaneously developed games (Secret Rings), this would be a fantastic idea and I’m all for it and there’s lots of things you can do with what Base 06 already offers and even expanding upon it. Lately I've been thinking that from the amount of those Sonic 06 related things that have been getting brought back it seemed kind-of obvious that they are very likely a bunch of hints that Sonic 4 will be a Sonic 06 inspired movie with Silver being in the Sonic 3 movie's mid-credits scene and that SEGA would be thinking of starting to remake his debut game sometime soon. Along with "Dreams of an Absolution" playing this year in the Sonic Symphony and the other hint in the Knuckles show: in episode 1 while being outside Maddie was wearing a white hat with an auqua green shirt which match some of the colors on Silver. Along with Jeff Fowler being a major fan of Shadow and in 06 it's been easy to believe that that character's personality was peak, so it makes some sense and can be suspected that he would probably think that they should next adapt the game that has Shadow at his best in it and because Silver has been one of the Sonic fanbase's most highly wanted characters to be shown in the Sonic Cinematic Universe (SCU) ASAP. The success of Project-06 may have convinced the people at SEGA that that old game has potential and that players would buy a physical or digital copy of it if it's a complete fixed-up version that doesn't have the problems that the original version has.

BIG PREDICTION: How much you gonna bet 10 years from now, cuz sonic 06 material is in this game with no explanation as of the shadow update, We're gonna have sonic x shadow x silver generations, and in silvers story will be about 06 era silver on a quest looking for blaze who past away after ibliss's defeat, and on the course of his story will explain how crisis city, kingdom valley, and Memphis survived the timeline Deletion despite princess Elise blowing the candle. Silver story will feature 3 sonic 06 levels, A level from sonic rivals and rivals 2, a level from sonic rush and rush adventures, and 2 future levels, 1 in sonic forces and 1 from the next mainline sonic game whatever it will be. As for bosses we will have a boss from rivals, a boss from rush, a boss from forces, and will end his story with a rematch against ibliss but this time silver dose something different to change blazes fate, and it ends at sonics birthday party with silver and blaze happy to be together again. The 3 sonic 06 levels I'm predicting is: aquatic base for level 1, silver gose back to the past to research more on ibliss's creation. And then The time eater attacks and now we get the 2 sonic rivals levels. The boss will be a eggman nega in some mechine. You then play a sonic rush level before Level 5 will be: wave ocean, after the level is where you meet blaze after sonic saved her from crisis city in his story, then you play a sonic rush adventure level. Before you reach level 9 which is... Flame core and immediately after you beat it you then fight ibliss for the very last time when sonic generations first came out, there was no future stages (Unless you want to count crisis city as a Future stage) cuz well sonic generations was the newest thing, no new games came out yet, so there was only a past and present but no future, now with the shadow update we now have some future stages, but also theres this weird anomaly that have sonic 06 stages like crisis city and kingdom valley, stages that were wiped from existence thanks to Elise blowing away Solaris. and their inclusions are still left unanswered, if sega wanted to they could come back to this game one last time and give silver his own story to answer these questions. cuz its not just past, present, and future, its past, present, alternate dimension, and future. sonic x shadow x silver generations would be a way to patch up continuity threads, but also who at sega desides lets bring back crisis city? Cuz that decision lead to inuniverse unanswered questions. The 3ds version did it right But I think before they make that, they need to remake sonic 06 from scratch. And made sure it's 100% complete.

Im of the belief that Sonic 4 is most likely to be inspired by Sonic CD with a focus on Amy and introducing Metal Sonic as the successor to Robotnik since Jim Carrey plans to retire. It’s also far more likely for Shadow to get a film than a show I think. I also feel pretty strongly that adapting 06 into the films really ought to be a two-film adventure, and the main characters really need to be able to operate in much more outlandish scenarios than they have so far.

Often we see developers remake, or more accurately remaster, the fan favourite classic games which typically don’t need much in change to get fans excited for its release. 06 is a different story as it’s no surprise it flopped badly, meaning if they can make what is considered one of the worst games oat, I think Sega will be earn anyone’s trust if it actually ends up good.

I'd love a remake made in the hedgehog engine that would show exactly what the team wanted from 06 similar to ChaosX's remake rather than completely changing the game. I really hope a Sonic 06 remake does happen. On top of how it would be fun to compare to Project 06, it would be fun to see what they change and keep story wise. I feel like they could make it work if they kept the same general story beats, but I think they should probably alter Elise's character quite a bit and give Silver more of a reason to listen to Mephilis. (Also Shadow's story is peak, so no changes are necessary).

Wdym they "weren't wasting time" and got Sonic 2 and 3&K "out of the way" in one movie. These are classics, what was "in the way" about them? And as for "wasting time," whenever it was about the games, it was great, but it wastes SO MUCH time on Aunt Rachael's wedding. And potential leaks suggest that Metal Sonic could be an antagonist at a later point, and Metal Madness appears in Shadow Generations, so not sure why you're concluding that Heroes could be skipped too. At least elements of it like the new Team Dark forming and Metal Sonic taking over should be included.

As someonw who honestly liked aspects of '06 incl the anime story, I wholy welcome a remake. In general I wish we got more remakes of games that failed the first time and deserve a second shot, rather than just games that were always popular/succesful and are just being remade due to fan demand and because the devs KNOW it will sell. Also, as creators of a flopped project, I can only imagine that Sonic Team themselves wanna redeem themselves as they look back at this failed experiment that was supposed to be a glorious celebration of Sonic's 15th anniversary, and them knowing that they can do a much better job today. As a creator you always look back on past works and think "I could've done better, and given the opportunity, I wanna".

Since it’s a remake and not a remaster, I can only assume they intend to rebuild and remix everything from the ground up, like what they did in the Generations titles. My one concern is if the level design would suddenly follow current sensibilities like an excessive use of dash-panels, springs, and dash-rings rather than baking a snappier move-set into the speed-based characters and trusting the players to utilise these skateboard-like or car-like character move-sets quickly and efficiently. I feel as though the number 1 goal for designing characters like Sonic, Shadow, or Blaze, for over 30 years now, has been to replicate through gameplay what Sonic is shown doing in cinematic cutscenes such as the Sonic CD opening cinematic. In that sense, I’d love to see primarily speed-based stages represented in a style more akin to skateparks and racetracks, encouraging player experimentation and rewarding players for building and releasing bursts of speed and covering large distances, and only occasionally playing pretend with assets when it’s tasteful, such as hiding springs in trees.

I feel like if they were to remake Sonic 06 they would need to change a lot. I'm not talking about bugs (duh those need fixed), I'm talking about the story. The Sun God Worship or whatever, Mephlsis being the God, Blaze being in Silvers timeline (how the heck is that even possible) and the Sonic and Elise romance, I just don't think that will work with most gamers who haven't played Sonic 06. Also, I don't think parents would like Sonic getting murdered on screen in there kids game. I remember seeing comments of parents freaking out about Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog, and he actually didn't get murdered. At least that's what I think.

I'm sure it comes from Nakamura's personal interest in what could have been, but I doubt that will actually happen. Imagine a year from now Sega announcing that to celebrate the franchises 35th anniversary, they'll remake one of it's most infamous entries to coincide with it's 20th anniversary. I find it more likely that Sega would rein him in, either get him or someone else to remake the Adventure games, or remaster Heroes, Shadow and Unleashed (the only ones that aren't yet available on modern platforms). And sure, with proper management, the game could come out fine, but if he wants to give Silver another chance, it might be easier to pitch a Silver solo game.

It would be a much better idea to make a Silver game. He really needs a larger role. If Sega gave him larger roles in the IDW comics, it's about time they gave him his own game, with great story writing, dialogue, and preferably mostly non glitch gameplay, and less empty with emotions.

Today's version of sonic (minus the voice, no shade, I promise) was built for the vision they originally tried for 06. The boost, their open world in frontiers & shadow generations, their animations in cutscenes. They even remade Shadow's moveset, so Lord knows they can really do the same for silver's to make him more fun. Unless they get lazy, there's literally no way they can make this go wrong

Ironically there is actually a possibility to re-tell a new timeline since the original game's timeline was erased so the question remains what actually happened in canon during the 06? when was the timeline reset? Resequel remake? To those who hate Elise in this new time line, sonic and Elise never met.. but there could be plenty of new conflicts.. during that time.

If they are really going to remake 06, I want them to change the story, very few people talk about how bad it is. some of the things I would change - the entire history of sonic: His story is almost filler if it weren't for Elise, come on sega, you give your two Edgys hedgehogs a great plot of revenge, apocalypse and time travel, but you give your pet a boring copy of the average Mario's plot? It would make Sonic's story better connect with Silver and Shadow's in both narrative and tone. -Elise and Sonic's relationship: ok we all agree that the romantic relationship between these two is strange, I would prefer their relationship to be more like that of shadow and Maria, day they could even be parallels and that could be an important part of the story, it would also be something nice and much less strange -silver's story: ok it would change a lot the apocalyptic future of silver, more than a completely desolate city it would make it in the middle of the catastrophe but still not as bad as in the game, I would put people in the background to make it feel more alive and if there is something left for it to fight and also blaze leaves, it really doesn't make any sense for her to be there besides she hardly acts like her, I would prefer her to be replaced by some kind of animal robot/android, and it would also make Mephiles more convincing with the sonic thing You know to not make Silver look like an idiot. Shadow's story I really don't think it needs any changes, I think the only thing that would change is that Shadow survived in perfect condition and trapped until Silver's future, even with the thing about the supreme life form you tell me that everything is gone Fuck it, but despite that, they were able to catch Shadow and contain him for more than 200 years? They never took him out to fight the fire mount, which the truth is I forgot how to write his name correctly, his name was never broken. container, it is quite convenient and illogical - mephiles: i would make him a better manipulator and in general, interact in a better way with the three protagonist hedgehogs, in Sonic's, he does nothing except kill him in a convenient way despite not interacting with him before, in Silver's I liked his role as a manipulator but more than it seems that he is skilled in that it only seems that he wins because Silver is stupid, in Shadow's role it was a missed opportunity in my opinion for him to mentally screw Shadow with all his past and putting him paranoid of his supposed imprisonment by omega finally the finally (pun totally intentional), would simply make the entire line restart but at the cost of Elise losing her memory about everything that happened in the game but the others remembering it, so the game would not be so irrelevant to the chronology in general

I'm theorizing that this remake will probably come out sometime in 2026, and Sonic movie 4 will probably come out around 2026 too (considering they always release the Sonic movies 2 years after the previous one). Sonic movie 3 is coming out this year, just like how Sonic X Shadow Generations came out this year. So they're probably going to release Sonic movie 4 at the same time around the 06 remake.

Remaking Sonic 06 that Sonic Team themselves wanted to do. In my opinion, I think that is a good idea to do. Cause they really needed to fix everything in Sonic 06, deliver a lot of content. Making lots of fun side quests, giving lots of time trial challenges, lots of tough bosses to fight and to remove the human and hedgehog relationship. So make that happen SEGA.

I'm glad that "Sonic The Hedgehog (2006)" is getting remastered. Unlike "Sonic Colors: Ultimate," which is a big stupid marketing stunt with no purpose to exist, this remake can fix the mistakes made in the original. Maybe, they can edit some details in the cutscenes. For example, instead of having Elise kiss Sonic on the lips, she can shed a tear on Sonic's chest.

I have thought they should remake'06 for years. There would be no greater victory for this series than '06 being made to work. It's impossible to make a game that bad again, and '06 getting a big overhaul and being made to actually work, would effectively kill one of Sonic's biggest black spots. If there is one single change they should make in a potential remake of '06, its the artstyle. i remember there was a piece of art released with Silver and Elise, and Elise was given a cartoony design, in line with the normal sonic artstyle. I genuinely think Elise as a character would be far more palatable to players if she looked like a normal Sonic character and not like a hyper-realistic final fantasy character. I really think people would get over the human-hedghog romance thing, if she just looked like an actual cartoon character.

I think 06 deserves a remake the most. Like, it had so much potential but was ruined by rushed development and the team splitting up. The level design was amazing, the music is phenomenal, Shadow and Silvers' story is amazing (we don't talk about elise) There's also the fact that SA1, 2, and heroes are still good games. 06 is a game I'll defend from the title of "one of the worst games ever" but still isn't great. Finally, it'd perfectly tie into a year of silver which I just really want to happen.

I'm speaking for myself, I love 06, I think it's a game with great potential but unfortunately it's unfinished, with bugs in everything and the princess's kiss, oh my god. I think it deserved a remake and if it's true, I'm really excited about this news. I think what they did with Amy, Knuckles and Tails in Frontiers, now Shadow without generations, I think they already know what to do with the characters to make the next game good. But unfortunately, Sega now only sees opportunities to feature classic Sonic and Green Hill, and 06 has none of that. And how will Shadow get his powers there? Well, the 06 story never happened, so I guess it works.

I'm not against this. Other than the "human kissing a hegehog" scene I've always thought the story was pretty good. With the game's story being split between Sonic, Shadow, and Silver it felt like Sonic Adventure 3 without being Adventure 3. Sonic 06 really got hurt in the gameplay since that was the transition period to HD games. What gameplay style they would use for a remake would be interesting considering they basically perfected the boost formula with Shadow Generations, but 06 was the Adventure style free platforming where you had much more control over where the character was going. This isn't even getting into adapting Silver's gameplay to modern times.

As cool as it would be to see a polished and fully completed Sonic 06… it’s also going to be extremely offputting to hear the old cast again, after we’ve just had years with the current cast. Of course, not saying it would be bad. In fact, it would be pretty awesome. Jason Griffith is my favourite voice for Sonic AND Shadow (especially Shadow where I think he is the definitive voice for him), and Lisa Ortiz is still undoubtably the best Amy Rose ever. My point is though… it’s going to take a lot of adjusting. Also, the story itself had some glaring problems that needs serious editing. Mainly the romantic subplot between a human and an anthropomorphic hedgehog. It would have been at least tolerable if Elise was like a hedgehog or something. Not a human.
