I always liked Kirrahe - he is basically Mass Effect's version of the Brigadier from Doctor Who. He cares about his troops, never has a bad word to say, became a loyal friend after the events of Virmire, pledges his full support in ME3 regardless of what you decide to do regarding the Salarians, is willing to throw his life away to save the councillor if needed, and is cool, calm, collected and even a bit sassy. If I could pick/choose existing characters to join me on the ship/become squad-mates, Kirrahe would have been selected after ME1 hands down. He'd not only provide subtle humour with his snarky professionalism, but would kick serious ass to boot.

in early scripts of me3 Kirrahe was with Wrex considered to be part of shepard's squad if he survived Virmire like a "reward" for players who export his me1 save file, but for unknow reasons that no was possible, maybe for the few time they got to made the game

There are several things about ME3 that baffle me. The ending, what happened to Legion and the way the Geth were handled, why we couldn't fight to save the Elcor or the Batarians, why we only see half our old squad mates as holograms.... but the most baffling thing to me, is why the hell we couldn't bring Kirrahe along as a squad mate.

He was in ME1 for a bit over an hour and had maybe three conversations, he was pretty irrelevant in the plot as a whole and had a business relationship with Shepard at best. In the first part of the mission on Virmire, make sure you do everything you can to help him & his team, so disrupt the Geth communications, destroy the satellite uplink, destroy the flyers near the fuel tanks & finally as you are about to enter the base & disable the alarms, make sure you disable the alarms so you fight more Geth, rather than sending the Geth to Kirrahe's location so you have less to fight. That is how you keep him alive. Hope that helps.

It's actually painfully obvious. Kirrahe specifically asks for help and drops huge ass hints as you progress in the mission. Plus, the objectives are marked on your map. Plus, your teammates make comments about it. Plus they're all in plain view and en route to the lab, aside from the Geth flyers, but that's still within eye-shot of the lab entrance. My friend, who didn't even know how to bring up the power wheel, saved Kirrahe his first go round, completely by accident.
