My parents moved a lot when I was little, the one thing they all had in common was they were "cookie cutter," a trailer, an apartment, a Sears & Roebuck house and finally a brand new 3 bed, 2 bath brick house in a subdivision that was exactly like every other house. I used to say that I would live in a tree house or bus or lighthouse, just as long as it wasn't cookie cutter. I have lived at the same address for over 40 years, we bought an old plantation house that was on the Mississippi River levee and had it cut up and moved. I spent the next 30 years fixing, papering, painting, and repainting it...always changing it but I still love it because it is one of a kind.
