How thrilling to visit David Austin Roses: I am the proud "mother" of 24 David Austin roses here in the Southeast of USA. My opinion: Bathsheba blooms the most. Alnwick smells the sweetest, Generous Gardener has HUGE blooms, Gertrude jeykell will grow nicely in partial shade, and all the others are wonderful too! David AUstin has a great website with all the little details needed for choosing and caring for the roses. Thanks for the visit to the home of some of the best roses in the world. By the way, Bathsheba is named for the female lead character in Thomas Hardys " Far From the Madding Crowd".

How sweet you got a kiss and a rose garden. Such a romantic husband you have. I am 82 and I will never be able to get to that Garden but it is so beautiful I almost lost my mind just seeing it on KZbin. I love roses so much and we have a lot of them around the property of the apartments that I live in. And they are so beautiful. I don't ever want anybody to give me cut roses but I love rose bushes and climbing roses are the very best. I had a climbing rose when I lived in Wisconsin and I had to take very good care of it in the winter time so it didn't freeze but it was beautiful. Our yard is quite small , so most plants are in pots . Because our garden area is small, we've opted for miniature roses. A couple of climbers and several non- climbers . A garden hardly seems like a garden without 🌹 roses. Thankyou for this lovely tour .

There is nowhere like England for everything beautiful! And those roses are really divine! Here in Malta we are cursed with strong sun that burns every kind of plant. In summer even my succulents have to be placed in the shade, so I can only dream of roses for my patio, unfortunately! Lovely video as always :)

This is all so lovely. Some of the roses are double, they remind me of Peony’s. Absolutely LOVE Roses with a beautiful scent! If I got lost there I wouldn’t be in any hurry to find my way out!

What a beautiful way to spend a sunny day ❤❤❤In Hartford, Connecticut in USA we have Elizabeth Park which has a lot of variety of roses as well. It’s the oldest rose garden in the USA. It’s probably young in age compared to these gardens. Father’s Day (3rd Sunday in June) is the best time to visit as the roses are in full bloom with heavenly smells. Thanks for sharing this beautiful place with us. On my bucket list now 😍😘

Hello to you Both, lovely day out at D. Austins gardens , I have the climber called "Generous gardener". It has such a a lovely fragrance I make Rose water from the petals and use it for room sprays and face cleansers. Hi Kirsten, I like the Bathsheba rose. You said that you have it already in your garden. I agree with you that your Gertrude jekel roses will look amazing on your patio. I have 2 David Austin roses. One is crown princess Margareta and the other is scepter’d isle. I also have ordered the Alnwick rose. I’m still waiting for it to arrive. 2 of the same rose is ideal. Love this video. Gertrude Jekyll is well known to many enthusiastic gardeners and landscape designers alike. She was held in high esteem by the gardening world in the 20th century, when she was acknowledged for her extensive design work, alone and in partnership with Sir Edwin Lutyens, the architect. I love roses and English roses are so special. With these extremely filled blooms. Like peonias. 🎉Lovely. Many years ago I planted 2 (climbing) roses into my grandmother's garden. New Dawn. White with a soft shimmer of pink. And first and foremost a very robust plant. That is very important for me. At my local gardeners shop I couldn't get a third one of that sort, so I took a German breed (name not at hand) which has the ADR seal. Colour slightly more intense. Very robust! Also very beautiful. I wish you good luck with your newly purchased roses, they will enchant your garden. Quickly a little story of a former colleague of mine... She invited me 2 or 3 times into her beautiful garden. In early summer... And imagine this... There was a cast iron Pavillion overgrown with a pink rambler rose. We sat inside and ate fresh strawberry cake. Can you imagine this romance? I am still dreaming about it. Thanks for the gorgeous video. Superbly done, as always!

I use to work in a flower shop and I’d be so overwelmed with all the gorgeous flowers and I’d always bring home fresh flowers for my home and still do. If I were there now I’d just want them all! I live by a he ocean and we have a gorgeous park by the ocean and all you can smell are the lovely sea roses and salt air , pure heaven so good for the soul.
