Lindsay, When you told me you studied in York and went for lemonade to the Guy Fawkes Inn I was like 'Oh my Gosh, so glad I have found this girl on Instagram'.

Got to say that looks awesome, great room but man, that bathroom was brilliant. If the food was as good as the restaurant looked, fantastic. Breakfast looked good but a bit on the small side for me. I have been passed the second hotel but not in it. We have only stopped over in York a handful of times, as we only live 29 minutes away by train but if we do stop over again, you have given us two great recommendations. Cheers Alan

York is so great and both accommodations have perfect locations. Hahah they offer cooked breakfast but we went for a vegan option that morning which was enough for us. You can totally go for Full English Breakfast as well.

Enjoyed this video! Could you please tell me what that sauce was you were dipping the toast in before the egg? It looked to dark for ketchup. Just curious. :)
@KirstenJoerg5 жыл бұрын
It's Marmite, a British thing made from yeast extract, it's very similar to Vegemite. Hope that helps.
@elizabethcorrell51105 жыл бұрын
@@KirstenJoerg Oh my. I tasted Vegemite ONCE when I was in England! LOL You surely are a hard core Brit fan to have acquired a taste for that! ;)
@KirstenJoerg5 жыл бұрын
@@elizabethcorrell5110 Lol, no I'm actually not mad about it but it tastes great with cheese and boiled eggs. We have something similar in Germany called Maggi. You can't eat it on its own, that's horrible lol.

Hi Kirsten, can you help me with this question? I saw on the menu an item called: Toasted Soldiers..what is that?
@KirstenJoerg5 жыл бұрын
Boiled eggs with soldiers: Soldiers are thin strips of bread of toast that you dip into a soft-boiled egg :) It's a British favourite!

Thank you! I feel a bit more British savvy now :))) Cheers & happy dining~
