It actually photographs better than it looks in real life as the proportions of the properties in the background are built to give illusions of greater size than they actually are. Ive stayed at the hotel and the real star is the estuary.....as Kirsten says - a spectacular spot. A great day out and very popular venue for weddings. If you stay in the houses or hotel you get to look around without the crowds.

I was 13 when the Prisoner started on TV in 1967. I was old enough to stay up later but not old enough to go out with my friends. They were the days parents looked after their children rather than let them roam the streets. Anyway my family loved the programme just for where it was filmed. It was a cross between Spy Fiction, Science fiction, Allegory and Psychological Drama. However to this day I don’t think anyone really understood it. The only thing I liked was when they tried to escape the village and they had these huge balloons that were the size of humans that chased the escapee along the beach and captured them never to be seen again. When I went on holiday with my family we always went to lots of different places in the west county. I remember my mother always saying she didn’t want to go to Wales as it’s always cold and wet lol. However you have proved her wrong!

I have been enjoying your channel immensely. I “discovered” it about 2 months ago, so there is a lot of catching up to do! My late husband and I loved to take off on mini day or two trips exploring. I am in the states so the scenery was different but included a mixture of historic sites, nature and antique markets. All your references to Jane Austen etc made me realize that I have not read much English literature with the exception of Shakespeare. So you have inspired me to start with some women writers for my summer reading- Austen and Brontë. It’s been wonderful- Thank you!

What a beautiful video! Although Portmeirion has been my tableware for several decades, I never knew the beauty of its source. Joerg, your drone photography of the coastline at low tide was spectacular. The pastel colors of the buildings plus palm trees made me think of the south coast of Cornwall combined with Isle of Mull. I had no idea the Gulf Stream was influential that far north in Wales! You deserve ALL that glorious sunshine, and thanks so much for sharing it with us! 🌝🌞🌝🌴🌴
