HOME UPDATE: NEW RUNNER FOR THE HALLWAY & ATTIC TRANSFORMATION IN OUR VICTORIAN TERRACED HOUSE// Happy Tuesday, We are so excited to be sharing a home update today and hope you like it! We finally show you our new runner from Roger Oates that we got for the hallway and the landing. We love it!
And finally our attic room took some shape and although it's not yet completed, we thought we would share it because we think it's already such a massive transformation. We love how it comes together with the colour, our new built-in cupboards, some antique finds and our antique Napoleon III slipper chairs that we just got reupholstered with an amazing Charlotte Gaisford fabric. Now we need to hang some pictures on the wall to make it even more cosy. We love this room and enjoy spending time here. Kirsten & Joerg xx

Evidently I wasn’t the only person who was thinking about when we might see this room and the hallway 🙂! I wasn’t certain how I might feel about the to color-I LOVE IT!!!! I LOVE EVERYTHING about the room!!! The new table, the reupholstered chairs, the fabric for the chairs (love the piping!), the pillows!!! And your carpenter (joiner) did a FABULOUS JOB!!! I love the stairway runner it is classically simple!!!! Fabulous you two-just fabulous!!!!

I love the color of the room. The little table is perfect (I don’t know why, but I have always loved the look of a drinks table!) and the fabrics are GORGEOUS! I think the decision to add blue piping to the chairs was a great choice.

If I have to give you both constructive criticism or tip, you should find a place for the large lamp. The lamp is very pretty but looks out of place, in my opinion. Great makeover of your attic room. I love the colour and it was the right move to paint the cupboard doors to match the walls. Actually I would paint the inside of the door to the room the same colour. I'm confused about your choice of material on the chairs and pillows. They are beautifully upholstered and I do like them. However, the entire room is nautical with the pictures, the Toby jug, the TV screen, even the blue colour. The chair material looks so feminine and almost floral. I would have been inclined to do the chairs and pillows in a striped material, or a solid with a small dot, which I feel would tie in better with nautical.

Nelson wasn't tiny. At 5 ft 4 inches, he was 1 inch below the average height at that time. It was an advantage on ship to not be tall as the cabins had low ceilings! I think Joerg's little joke about Nelson's height was a little 'sizeist', coming from such a tall man.
