Drawer liner idea is fantastic! Also, the walnut looks like burl walnut to me-with the top glimpse it looked like a piece sliced in half and used opposite each other for a decorative symmetrical top. Woodworkers from centuries past were so skilled! In my antique dresser I put sachets-not to scent my clothing, but because it helps counteract the older wood smell. Those could be very thin paper packets that go under your wall paper lining. Also a good bar of soap rubbed on the underside of the drawer where it “glides” will lubricate it a bit for smooth drawer in & outs. Lovely drawer drop pulls.

The whole design and luxurious wood grain. Wow. Have you ever heard of Teabloom? I just recently purchased some flowering teas and organic loose-leaf tea from them. I also ordered a teapot. I'm enjoying a cup while I write this. Anyway, if you love tea as much as I see you do, you should check them out. It's fun to watch the tea bloom in the glass teapot. Love to you both! :)
