I bought Adrenalize when it came out. I listened to it once, sold it back to the record store at a huge loss and haven't bought a nine armed Def Leppard album since.

I theorize that part of Clark's drinking problem was him trying to cope with the direction Def Leppard was heading. They lost all the little edge they had after he died. RIP Clark

I mean there's no evidence that he didn't like the pop direction they were in. He wrote half the hysteria songs and he wrote half the adrenalized songs. Including stand up kick love into motion and have you ever needed someone so bad. Those are like the quintessentially poppiest Def Leppard songs and he wrote them. Or played a huge role in writing their main guitar riffs. He wrote the rift of pyromania. People just try to like invent this history in their head or Def Leppard was this metal band that one day decided to sell out for pop success when in fact they set out from the beginning to be like Queen. There was never a moment when they were underground.

Not saying you're incorrect or anything but it seemed from documentary's I've seen that he seemed very unhappy and his role in the studio was diminished signiificantly each album since Pyro. Writing credits don't really give a complete picture of involvement and often times are done politically and or graciously.

Crazy nights is one of my all-time favorites from KISS. Adrenalize had me a little mix, but White lightning is one of my favorite tracks from that album, and possibly one of the last good songs from the band in my opinion.

I liked "Crazy Crazy Nights" when I saw the video... but at the time I also fully believed that KISS stood for "Knights in Satan's Service". So I felt a bit conflicted about liking it! The Devil was using this music to lure me down the path of sin. I was twelve, and my friend was deep into evangelical Christianity. Anyhow I resisted the allure of rock for a couple more years, until I discovered AC/DC!

Oh man, this was hilarious, and I actually like Crappy Nights...ahem Crazy Nights. To me, Crazy Nights is the Kiss Dynasty of the 80's. I do enjoy the songs but don't particularly care for the production and musical direction. Def Leppard Hysteria is similar, some decent songs but a dubious musical direction. Adrenalized is when they hit rock bottom for me, kind of like Unmasked did for Kiss. At least Kiss recovered with Creatures of the Night. Def Leppard only got worse. You were ahead of curve, Doc, when you stopped at Hysteria. I actually bought Adrenalized. Tear It Down was the only decent song, and that was a more hard rocking leftover from Hysteria. Fortunately, I found a poor sucker to sell it to.

I like exactly 2 and a half Def Leppard albums. ON THROUGH THE NIGHT, HIGH N DRY , and the deep cuts on PYROMANIA DIE HARD THE HUNTER, BILLYS GOT A GUN, and COMIN UNDER FIRE. Really the rest of what they made was garbage. Huge disappointment. There was some serious cutting the cheese on this episode Ralph.

I admit, i loved Hysteria. I thought it was polished pop rock done right but when i heard lets get rocked, i about vomitted. Never have listened to the album. It was so contrived and just the title sucked. I had crazy nights back in the day and thought it sucked but id have to believe that it would kick adrenalized's ass.

Def Leppard needed Steve Clark AND Pete Willis not just Steve. Phil Collen imo. is a huge reason they started going so glittery and got weak, the version of Tear It Down on the album is so over cooked. It lost what little rawness it had before.

Adrenalize for me is extremely horrible. The only song I like is White Lightning. I actually love the majority of Crazy Nights. Only songs I don't like are Crazy Crazy Nights, Bang Bang You, and No No No. Crazy Nights easily wins for me.
