AMEN or LIKEWISE! In my opinion, '80s WERE, and ALWAYS WILL BE, "THE PINNACLE OF CIVILIZATION!" In my opinion, despite nine of out ten people saying that, "times and music evolve or change," well, compared to the '80s, and ONLY the '80s, even today's, or EVEN the '90s, CAN'T COMPARE OR COMPETE WITH THE "PASSION," "AMBITION," and "POWER," of the '80s!

This popped in my head the other day. I actually liked the non-makeup stuff hmm I won't say better but on par with the makeup KISS. They've had so many different eras within one band.
@RowdyRodimus10 жыл бұрын
KISS is a movement, an ideal. It's not the costumes, makeup (on or off) or the sets that make KISS what it is. KISS is about fun, being true to your fans, being part of a brotherhood. When you are a KISS fan you know that you have millions of members of a family. A family born of what the original four started in 73/74 and what others have developed and added to it on the last 40 years.
@brandonpickrell623210 жыл бұрын
RowdyRodimus Would you like to see more than just the original 4 inducted into the hall of fame? When they did the inplugged and Bruce got some boos Ace stopped and said hey he is part of the family too.
@RowdyRodimus10 жыл бұрын
Brandon Pickrell I think everyone who has been a member of the band (sadly not including session musicians like Bob Kulick or Anton Fig) should be inducted. Eric Carr was a member of KISS longer than Peter, the same with Bruce Kulick and Ace. Vinnie Vincent, Mark St. John and Eric Singer should also be included. So as I said every member should be inducted, however, I think that the performance (if any) the original four should be the ones in makeup (unless by some miracle Vinnie Vincent is part of it, then he can wear hi Ankh makeup) with Eric and Bruce not wearing it since Ace and Peter are the ones that made the designs and characters famous along with creating it. KISS is more than the sum of it's parts in my opinion, no one member is bigger than the band (the solo albums released since 1981 have shown that). The Hall of Fame should be a celebration of the 40 years of KISS, not the individual members. It's like The Beatles, they have gone in as a group and all but Ringo have gone is as individuals also. So in that aspect and in much simpler terms, yes, there should be more than the original four going in as the band.

I remember the very first time I heard of Kiss. It was in 1975 and one of my older brothers told me to stay up late one night to see this new band on The Midnight Special and WOW! I was absolutely BLOWN AWAY! I was like "HOLY SHIT! THIS IS INCREDIBLE!" and I was instantly hooked on this band. I had a million posters all over my wall and every album and finally got old enough to go see them live on their Dynasty tour. I even got to meet them before the show at the Green Oaks hotel here in Ft Worth, TX and they didn't have their make up on and I was shocked at how different they looked (except Paul of course) and I got Genes autograph. Good times.

KISS has some great songs in the 80's. I do not think that they would have made it without the makeup and stage shows but it took that to bring you to this. I think if Peter and Ace had stayed in KISS it would sound way different than it did in the 80's.
@Cornerback804 жыл бұрын
I personally think Revenge was their best album and that came out in 92. Its crazy how bands like Kiss, Alice Cooper and Aerosmith went from 70s heavy metal and jumped right into 80s hair band and fit right in.
@philliplandry4139 Жыл бұрын
The funny thing is. When they first got to the early 80's. They were in crisis mode. Alice Cooper had a drug and image problem. He even went as far to adopt a new wave image and sound. It was terrible. Aerosmith was struggling with booze and drugs. Plus people weren't interested in them anymore because of the replacement members. Kiss on the other hand, it wasn't the booze and drugs was the main problem but the image and thread of the songs was hurting them the most. It wasn't until the LA glam scene was picking up in the mid 80's that these guys finally recovered and got back on track.

And then Bruce Kulick fills in then KISS still remains in the 80s heavy metal line along with most popular bands like Poison, Motley Crue, Def Leppard, Cinderella, Bon Jovi, Guns n Roses, Aerosmith and more.
