My mother, an executive physician for General Motors in the 1990’s just before this performance, loved Paul since 1976, then met him for a moment in a cafe in Detroit. She started crying. He consoled and embraced her in the most respectful and sincerely thankful way. She and I will never forget it. Have a picture and found a way to get him that picture and he signed and personalized it to her. We still have it to this day. He is real and a class act.

@Donal Finn Chosei Funahara? They had some great tunes that weren't released as well. For whatever reason they passed on some solid Ace tunes that I would've loved to have heard on Creatures or anything from the Elder. Bryan Adams wrote with Kiss for Animalilze or LIU from what I recall. Once they got to LIU they gravitated to the 8th note chunking away and just basic rock beat. Gone were the days of songs like She or Cold Gin in order to try for another cheesy hit single.
@Redhotlugnut
@Redhotlugnut 4 жыл бұрын
@Donal Finn Say if they took the tracks that were more rock oriented from The Elder and used the tracks from Kiss Killerz EP along with the strong demos, they coulda had a great 10 track album for 1981 instead of the Elder. I like I and The Oath but the rest no thanks. Unmasked and Dynasty have several great songs on them but to me the production got really thin and whimpy. If they woulda had a bit thicker/heavier guitars woulda made a huge difference. I also really liked Ace's stuff. Not a good singer at all but his songs just rock.

I see a lot of posts about people being shocked that KISS dressed like this. I'm 39 years old. I was too young for any memories of the the original 4 in makeup. Animalize, Asylum and Crazy Nights were my first real-time memories of KISS. Of course, I was aware that this band had a history with the makeup and such. Their past fascinated me, but I also liked the current (mid-80s) line up. They still had cool stages, gimmicks and they seemed to get as much magazine face time and MTV airtime as the other current glam rockers. Now that I'm way older and have had time to go through most of the audio and video history (as any lifelong KISS fan does) this era is no less important or nostalgic as the rest. For people who got into KISS when I did (the Carr Kulick era), there was an understanding that the band had history and was a little more interesting than the other glam bands. I did have this fantasy in the back of my mind that they would put the makeup back on someday... but it didn't happen. Then 1996 happened...

One of all the unmasked kiss song that i like the most.. Eric Carr filled in the drums in every part of the song magnificently and Bruce Kulick played the killer solo as always🤘

A great song Paul Stanley has a strong beautiful voice that touches everyone's heart a good song writer great guitar player Eric Carr pounded the drums Gene Simmons Bruce Kulick great guitar player. KISS was great without the makeup they should continue making new music n tour without makeup they are just as good as the rolling Stones. KISS rocks 😎🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸🎸🌹🌹❤️❤️🏋️🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🎸🎸🌹

Does anyone know why they never played this song live? even during the asylum tour? this is seriously one of their best by far, out of any period. Simple, and hard hitting with an epic and melodic chorus.

I’ve wondered the same thing. Same with King of the Mountain only being played only twice during the Asylum tour (and it sounded better live, too).
