KISS - The Early Years - New York City Locations

Finding historical KISS Locations in New York City. A trip 26 years in the making. My friends and I head to New York City, for the 3/27/19 Madison Square Garden, KISS - END OF THE ROAD show, hunting down famous KISS spots in the process. 10 East 23rd Street, Electric Lady Studios, Central Park - Waring Abbott Photo Spots, and The Amityville House are some of the many spots, featured. This trip was one for the books, and was a great way to close the chapter celebrating the fun of the worlds greatest rock and roll band.
PS - I did NOT include any footage from the Madison Square Garden Show in this video. There is enough footage of that show out there, and lastly, it was my intent to attend my final KISS show in person. Viewing it with my own eyes and ears, not through a phone or camera. Thank you in advance for understanding. This video soley focuses on NYC locations of KISS. Which, if you are a KISS nerd, like my friends and I, you will enjoy.

Awesome video Demon Dude. You've outdone yourself on this bad-boy. You've made 70s NYC pop culture nerd heaven proud. Nice juxtaposition of 'the Warriors' movie in '79 with the KISS locations, in-earnest many late 70s KISS fans inadvertently equated KISS in 1979 with the NYC 'Warriors' visuals from that movie as being the original locales of the band. This video is one of your best. Please in the future, now in 2023 do a full-on take with your research for the pending KISS 2.0.

Kiss got lucky in so many ways. From meeting Bill aucoin to having connections to electric Lady land studios but still had to bust there asses, but a lot of luck just the same. I became a fan in 1974 at 10 years old. Very cool to go to these sites something I always wanted to do . So thanks for the tour!

Parents hated them and they scared the hell out religious groups yeah it was fantastic! I would not change it if I could. @@stephenlandry9343 haha! Yes, I love it. I got into the band in 1988. Still got to experience the fun of being a fan (pre-Internet), but yeah missed out on that magic. My Buddy Dan (who introduced me to KISS), was there for the hysteria (circa 78’), however there something SO magical and DIY (Pre-76’). A real “fan club” feel back then. Always love to hear from folks, that were fans back then.

I still have that copy to this day (as well as a similar style copy of Carrie that she gave me). Between those two books and Pet Sematary, my 7th grade book reports were a little dark, haha.

How lucky you have great Friends. In May, my Wife and I will be making a trip to New York, we use to live in Queens, many years ago. New York is unique and fun. But nothing like Kansas. I am way excited visiting.Years ago we looked for the Popcorn(Coventry) bar. It's now since gone. Lol! In it's place is a Redwings shoe store. Thank you so very much sharing your experience. Saw every second of the video. Outstanding!! As usual, I have a little to say. The only bad was the promoting of The End of The Live Vocals Tour. Everything else in it gave me the "joy" that I am able to respark with the "right" content. And so here goes. Your recreations and attention to detail must have required a LOT of preparation and homework. So I would like you to talk about that. How many days were you guys did that take in planning? How long were Ya'll there shooting? So a behind the scenes making of video might be an idea for you. Besides wanting to take a NYC trip to do the same as you guys did,.I have been fascinated with the start up of the band and where each member lived at the time. And when you consider how large NYC is with the Burroughs, and do you research where each member lived, it is a chore to get to band practice. That's at least how I see it on a map but y'all were there. So it may not be all that difficult. With Ace in the Bronyx, Gene and Paul in Queens, and Peter with Lydia (Brooklyn?). and the loft was in Manhattan, that seemed like an issue. Was locating their homes at the start of Kiss something you guys wanted the do? What would have been cool if given the time, is if you would have split up and started from each members home area and took subway, or cab(same as the Kiss member did) and met at the loft and videoed it. Now maybe that is over the top nerdy!! But just my two cents worth. Ha ha.

HaHa! That is an awesome idea! We never really thought about doing the homes, but that is something I definitely would consider doing in the future. I know, personally I was planning this from the moment the MSG show was announced, so it was probably a couple of months, getting all the addresses, and trying to match up screenshots.
