Here is a 1st Look at some new gear I just got in. Starting with the new CMMG 5.7x28 Upper Receiver with a 8" barrel. Rather than going to traditional PCC (Pistol Caliber Carbine) route of using a dedicated lower receiver to take pistol magazines, they have came up with 40 round magazines that fit into a standard AR-15 lower receiver.
To top the new little gun I have a Trijicon SRO in a Scalarworks LEAP Mount. And since shooting suppressed is always fun, I tried the Q Erector Silencer on the gun as well. All together making for a nice light package.

And the MP7 is the only gun to use that caliber whereas the 5.7 is growing to more platforms. Would we all like a TB MP7 in 4.6? Sure but it’s far more likely it would be chambered in 5.7, that’s what I was getting at.

I remember I was hammering on a fence in the backyard when Dad approached. He was carrying a letter or something in his hand, and he looked worried. I continued to hammer as he came toward me. “Son,” he said, “why are you hammering on that fence? It already has plenty of nails in it.” “Oh, I’m not using nails,” I replied. “I’m just hammering.” With that, I returned to my hammering. Dad asked me to stop hammering, as he had some news. I did stop hammering, but first I got a couple more hammers in, and this seemed to make Dad mad. “I said, stop hammering!” he yelled. I think he felt bad for yelling at me, especially since it looked like he had bad news. “Look,” he said, “you can hammer later, but first-” Well, I didn’t even wait to hear the rest. As soon as I heard “You can hammer,” that’s what I started doing. Hammering away, happy as an old hammer dog. Dad tried to physically stop me from hammering by inserting a small log of some sort between my hammer and the fence. But I just kept on hammering, ’cause that’s the way I am when I get that hammer going. Then, he just grabbed my arm and made me stop. “I’m afraid I have some news for you,” he said. I swear, what I did next was not hammering. I was just letting the hammer swing lazily at arm’s length, and maybe it tapped the fence once or twice, but that’s all. That apparently didn’t make any difference whatsoever to Dad, because he just grabbed my hammer out of my hand and flung it across the field. And when I saw my hammer flying helplessly through the air like that, I just couldn’t take it. I burst out crying, I admit it. And I ran to the house, as fast as my legs could take me. “Son, come back!” yelled Dad. “What about your hammer?!” But I could not have cared less about hammering at that point. I ran into the house and flung myself onto my bed, pounding the bed with my fists. I pounded and pounded, until finally, behind me, I heard a voice. “As long as you’re pounding, why not use this?” I turned, and it was Dad, holding a brand-new solid-gold hammer. I quickly wiped the tears from my eyes and ran to Dad’s outstretched arms. But suddenly, he jumped out of the way, and I went sailing through the second-story window behind him. Whenever I hear about a kid getting in trouble with drugs, I like to tell him this story.

This thing makes no sense. As a training tool 5.7 is waaaay too expensive. The same thing could be achieved with .22 in an AR platform. So if it's not training cost then why?... Recoil? Come on 5.56 is not that intense even for new shooters, or hell even newborns. Is it ballistically superior... No. Seems like a pointless gimmick that we'll eventually see Gun Jesus review in 10 years or so. Keep up the good work though, the content is great.
@KitBadger

It is easy to get cavalier about recoil, but when you introduce kids, they are pretty sensitive to it, coupled with noise. This does help on both fronts. But I think it is still really niche with how expensive ammo is. :)

It’s a cool upper, but I don’t see any practical applications for it myself. Sticking to the AR platform, 5.7 is not as powerful as 5.56, its not going to be as good of a suppressor host as a pcc 9mm or 45 acp upper, and it’s more expensive to shoot than all three of those.

@@KitBadger If you wish to build an SBR, ensure that all of the proper paperwork and tax stamps are in order before attaching a shoulder stock. Attaching an AR-15 pistol upper assembly with a barrel shorter than 16" to a rifle lower is also considered an SBR and will get you in trouble without the proper tax stamps in place. This guy in the video says you can put this upper on any lower. Yes I know what he meant but it would only take him a few seconds to say any pistol lower if you don't have a SBR STAMP! A lot of people like myself learn by watching videos but if they don't include what laws their is someone could get there guns taking away. The only reason I watched this video is because I want the Ruger 5.7 pistol but the AR in this caliber is still to pricey for my budget.
