Kitbashed 40k Ork Battlewagon for Big Ghaz Thrakka

To help pass the time, while waiting for those other Ork Warboss gitz to finish their battlewagon builds for the challenge, I decided to knock together a new battle wagon for Ghaz to ride in.
I went with the 8 wheel layout on the Warhammer Necromunda Cardi B (or Cargo 8) thingy instead of the usual gubbins.

The main body is probably a little too big for a standard grot tank, it's closer to the back half if a trukk. Which I realise I will now try and do (cheers Jude) 😁👍

Oooh, that was a joy as ever to watch. Luv yer kitbashes, lad! I ain't big on Ghazzy myself, or 10th for that matter, but I love how you have a compartment for lil' Makari! Bootiful as evah! And boy am I glad I picked up two battlewagons, a big trakk from FW(totes!), a trukk, and Orlock quads, gonna mash 'em together with a ton of plasticard and make me a kustom battle fortress. I aim on making at least one of the quads into an orky one and make one of the parts of the Fort be an "away team" module, and try an' make and paint it up like a carry-on garage with a team of orks to do recon, partols and salvaging. And put a deffkopta helipad up top, ha! Luv lil' whirlybirds ever since I saw Mad Max 2. And a crate of molotovs as a big bomm. Ha!

Sounds like a cracking idea boss, it's definitely in the right size bracket. I've always wanted a killrig with a mechanical engine instead of being towed by a squig. Good luck with that and get mekkin' 😁👍

Soz, bit late replying to this and I really can't think why coz yaz dun a bang-up job on it. Easiest way to stiffen up the ramp (if it's bothering you) is to clog the pivot with paint - acrylics ain't tuff enuff to 'lock' the pivots but will cause 'drag' on them and coz the ramp ain't that heavy it'll tend to stay in place. Am surprised(ish) by how big Ghazzy's base is - put my BloodAxe boss on a 60mm (which is also the widest one I put my Wazdakka on too). Still, nice one 👍

Those white tires are a bit yikes, but mainly because they are all white and not bashed, fixed or enhanced with orky bits. Like that nice turret cover could have found a secondary home on one if you magnetized one of the wheels. And maybe use some of those left over parts to build a canopy of sorts for the back for extra configurations and cannon slots, that could be a fun addition to it if you fancy ideas for a project. Anyway, super nice model and really fun and got me all sorts of ideas. Fun and entertaining video too.

So you bought the most expensive model in the poll, and then bought another model that's only a wee-bit cheaper to nick the tires and base frame from. 🤔 Propa Deathskull thinkin' dere. Well, except for the payin' bit. The other boyz don't have a chance. And you got a storage container and a few boxes and barrels out of the deal. 😉 Truth be told, I've been looking at that kit since it was spoiled, and was thinking about getting one (or one of the trailer kits) as the basis of something similar to build a kill rig out of in combination with a battlewagon and some other bits. This video helped quite a bit in comparing the relative scales.

Glad it was useful boss, and yeah haha, dead cost effective isn't it? I'm planning on using the front cab off the Cardi B as part of a trukk, and there is loads of great little bits in it too. If I'm using multiple kits for one model I always try and use the other bits for another project. It normally works out well. Normally 😕

Mostly use big shootas on vehicles, boyz get da rokkits 😝 I did think about some steps on the ramp, or at least some chunky rungs, but Gahzzy's feet are just too big. They'd have to be hella big steps to fit his monster boots. All da boyz just turn away and believe he can do it, and when they look back, he's in 😊

I got an idea today for how I could try kitbashing the tank model I got from hobby lobby the other day (specifically for hte purpose of having parts for kitbashing) into a battlewaggon. I found a nice sized plastic box (it was for holding chalk but I asked if I could move the chalk to a ziploc bag so I could take the box) and I'm planning on putting that at the back of it and keeping only the part of the hull with the "top" of the tank that has it's guns and stuff and put that at the front. i've started sawing bits of the tank into the parts that I want so I can start getting it into the general shape I want and then later I can add extra guns and other orky bits to it untill it looks like an orks model and paint it. itt'll take a while but it's gonna be my first real kitbash project and will give me something fun to work on while I wait for my warbikers and meganobz I ordered to arrive : D thank you for inpiring me to start kitbashing Drunken Ork! it's very fun
