Embarrassed to say I missed that...good catch...but yes, he is VASTLY quicker thinking on his feet than most all comedians, at least most of the ones I've seen in situations where nothing is written for them and they have to make normal interchange funny. Doing so is _seemingly_ benign, but it's a sales tactic. It gets you used to signing things, so that when the big one comes out, it's not so difficult to sign. The same goes here... If they know they're going to have trouble with you giving more personal information, they'll start with simple things to get you comfortable with giving them info.

So I told my dad about this channel so he could be entertained and informed. Literally a week after he watched a couple videos, a scammer tried to get him. Thankfully, he hung up, but I wonder what would have happened if I hadn't shown him this channel. Thanks for what you do, Kit. You're one of my favorite channels on KZbin.

thats actually a really good point. these videos could definitely teach a lot of people what to look out for. i had a customer of mine tell me yesterday someone stole his social security number lol. he was like "yeah they called me and told me!" i was instantly like man, that was a scam xD

Tell your dad to tell his friends. The IRS does not call, they write letters via usps because legal reasons. You can call the IRS via googled numbers.... Microsoft, Google, Amazon, etc dont call because reasons. ICE don't call because reasons.... The best advice I can give anyone is to ask questions. ALL the questions (They called YOU, not the other way around), if it is legitimate. You can call them back on their public line with information they gave. If it is fraud. They will not want you to contact their company/agency directly.

I work retail as a manager and I’ve learned so much from these videos that has helped me to explain Irs/ssa scams. Just today I prevented an old woman from spending $2000 on eBay and MasterCard prepaid cards. Sadly she told me she was at a different retailer earlier that day and had spent $1600 in cash and already given the “officers” the codes. She was still on the line when I was speaking with her. Looking back, I wish I had asked her if I could speak with them and test out some Hindi words. Thanks for fighting the good fight Kit!

The possibilities here to frustrate him, I thought at 5:30 (video) where the scammer says, "25 attackers on your computer, do you see that?" ... at that point, you might have said, "Oh my gosh, let me count them, 1...2....3... " counting very slowly. Each time the scammer interrupts, tell him you lost your place and have to start counting from the top all over again.

you can just go to the system32 folder and rename syskey.exe to anything else and when they look for syskey they won't find it and they will be too dumb to go to that system32 folder
