Fun fact: I think the self-locking head is a requirement for tilthead mixers in countries outside of North America. The heads do not self lock in USA and Canada. So if you forget to lock it if you just whipping egg whites are doing whipped cream it doesn't really matter but if you're mixing a heavier dough you will notice if you forgot. Up until the 1970s KitchenAid produced various small light-duty planetary tilthead mixers that didn't have a lock at all since they were not intended for bread making. Dislike 3D mixers also came with a single beater that doubled as both the whisk and the paddle attachment. You definitely want to make sure your brown sugar is not lumpy with one of those old models.

Didn’t expect the wire whip to work so well mixing your cake! In my experience I only use the wire whip to mix liquids or make whipping cream or meringue. Well done

Have a watch again…I used the wire whip for the butter icing only :-) Do you have the same mixer then? What’s your favourite thing to make in it?

@@Zimpaz I do! I bake a lot, mostly cookies but I do love making cinnamon rolls with the help of the mixer, I couldn’t even imagine doing it by hand.. also chocolate babka and scones!!

All the accessories can't go in the dishwasher ...the wire whip will be destroyed..

I have a few vintage KitchenAids. One of them is one of the light duty models from the early seventies called the 4C that actually only comes with a whip let doubles as a flat beater best of the times on it or thicker and flat instead of cylindrical parrot. If you've seen the episode of The French Chef where Julia Child makes the Queen of Sheba cake that is the same model of mixer that you used.

You got a good deal on your mixer… I paid £480 for the same package which was reduced from an original price of £600 which I believe to be a good deal, at this time 07/2024.. They did tell me that I had a two year warranty (lakeland) But the product comes with a five-year warranty anyway .. as indicated by the manufacturer .lol. Anyhow, happy baking ..🇬🇧😁👍

I bought this mixer today but when i put the head down and start the machine the wire Wisk scrathes with the bowl and make annoying sounds is tha normal plz check Your machine when we put down the head after attaching the wire wisk can u see it is touching the bowl or is it any fault my one many thanks

It does touch yes but not enough to make a loud noise. You can adjust the height of the beater though…if you lift up the head there is a flat head screw to adjust it

@@Zimpaz I one had a whisk the was so defective that needed the beater height raised so high the head would no longer lock. That's fairly rare occurrence.

I don’t believe you did the cake. Can you prove you didn’t have any female help during the baking process.
