Just for information to people who doesn't know, Indonesian fried rice mostly use sweet soy sauce. But if you don't have it, you can use regular soy sauce mix with sugar/brown sugar just like what she did

@mhmdirza4 жыл бұрын
That's so clever, instead of using sweet soy sauce, you use brown sugar and dark soy sauce to "recreate" the "sweet soy sauce" for the nasi goreng sauce. Love this video!

I like the egg added to the fried rice when it is cooked with brown sugar tamarind and fish sauce, in the end, an egg omelet on top of fried rice looks so good.

@Ashmills1584 жыл бұрын
Me too, no MSG, no galangal or rendang
@kevbee19474 жыл бұрын
@@Ashmills158 I think Uncle Roger would be quite kind. No MSG, But galangal? Not a usual ingredient. Rendang? That's a meat dish. The one thing Uncle Roger might query is the lack of kecap manis. But it looks delicious. I'd eat it for breakfast.

@johnsmith-rs2vk10 ай бұрын
Nasi Goreng . The most important ingredient is the Rempah , a blend of onions, garlic, trassi ( shrimp paste and chilli ) . By the way , I worked as an Officer on a German cruise ship and we had an Indonesian cook who made his lunch buffet in the dining room with this dish . He always said Nazi Göring ! Until the Staff Captain told him to correct his pronunciation !

Thou Shrimp Paste is a very important ingredient along with Kecap Manis (sweet soy sauce) you could use fish sauce which will also give you that depth of flavor
@shirookun3 жыл бұрын
shrimp paste is the umami flavor for nasi goreng, let say this shrimp paste will give 10 point, without it you'll get 7 point.

I thought, or at least the noodle box(s), different names near me (well a few of them) have a curry powder taste, I will try it with and without, since the curry flavour was quiet nice.
