One thing I only realised about the gon vs centipede ant battle is that it’s kinda similar to a game of rock paper scissors. The ant was gonna try and counter gon’s rock attack by wrapping him like paper but then gon countered that with his scissors attack and cutting through him

7:55 Remember in greed island when Gon trained with Bisky. He told her he wanted to have an attack that he can cut with like a sword and an attack that he can shoot with. Rock is the punch. Scissors is the blade. Paper is the ranged attack. So we didn't see when exactly he managed to get it right, but he was working on this ever since greed island. And as Bisky said, it helps to train the nen categories adjacent to your own to create a stronger foundation around your strength. So rock is an enhancer move, self explanatory. Scissors is a transmuter move, transmuters change the properties of aura, Gon learned to make his aura sharp like a blade. And paper is an emitter move, emitters shoot aura around like projectiles. So with his rock, paper, scissors technique, he has a move in his main category, and one move for each adjacent category for that boost through a solid foundation that Bisky was talking about. Now we just gotta work on that long windup lol.

About Kites power the numbers are random because imposing a restriction allows his weapons to be stronger. Being unable to choose is a restriction therefore stronger weapons. You guys may already know this but just putting it out there 😅

I may be wrong, but the armadillo Chimera Ant was Gon’s first kill in the series. Notice how back in Yorknew, Gon would tell the Troupe how could they kill so mercilessly and was genuinely disgusted by it. However, he killed that armadillo with no qualms at all. As a young innocent boy, getting your first kill is typically a big event in your life, as you now have blood on your hands. Think about Armin killing that one woman to save Jean, and then he cried about it afterwards. Yet, Gon felt nothing at all here. I’ve mentioned other abnormalities and hypocrisies about Gon’s character in previous videos. This will be very important to the story.

Just a bit of clarification, I dont believe Kite's ability is scailed by the numbers given to each weapon of crazy slots. So "2" could be very strong in comparison to the other eight weapons, but Kite may call it a "bad spin" because it either wasnt the weapon he wanted in that senario or its just that its versatility is low.

In my opinion it’s not that gon’s character lacks depth but the top layer of his personality is so strong-the cheerful and forgiving gon- that oftentimes we can’t really see the layer below it that little bit messed up. There has been hints here and there but maybe you just haven’t notice it cause it might feels irrelevant. This boi gon can change his stance real quick based on the stake and the person involved in said circumstance. In the hunter exam we see gon literally taking a bait-which he knows well going to be dead-to take hisoka’s tag, no qualms of seeing people die in front of him, he’s lazer focused on getting the tag. Another thing that i was shocked at first when hisoka about to go to kurapika and leorio’s place he contemplated at first to whether he should deviate from the plan or not. There are many-many little hints actually that this kid is kinda unhinge and hypocritical. Maybe not many people can relate to this but this makes his character so so much more interesting to dissect. And this might be a hot take but gon’s character has more depth than killua imo

I find it really interesting that here we see Gon's first murder. His reaction is very different from Kurapikas. Where Kurapika felt sikly and disgusted, so much, he may of even been compelled to vomit. Despite killing a man who murdered his entire family for profit, he buried him respectfully with a shovel. Gon, on the other hand, doesn't even seem to have registered, that he just ended a life. He proposed mercy, the enemy refused, so Gon showed no mercy. Especially his reasoning is concerning, as he only deems the ant solidier worthy of death for not sticking to his comrade.

The two situations are way difference from each other . Kurapika killed a human for revenge and he wasn't disgusted by the "killing part" he was digusted by how these emotions of revenge could easily control him and make him do things he never thought he could do and how empty he felt after doing it , it made him question if it was worth doing this to himself so it's more of a realisation is what am doing making me satisfied? Is it worth it ? Wherea Gon first kill was an ant that he had just seen how it toyed with humans emotions and made them beg to be killed then killed them , also if he didn't kill him he would have died cuz they were going to act either way . So he did what he had to do to an ant that's causing threat . Finally I wish this "Gon is psychopath" narrative would stop .
