Jeff explains how to replace the large screw valve (big boston valve). Many kite companies are using this valve for their inflate/deflate and on occasion you might have to replace it. Here is a technique if you have to cut the entire valve out.

Jeff, have you ever considered making the bladder hole/cross after sticking the boston valve...a hole or just a cross as this will keep the blacder nice and flat

thanks for the video. What if i have a new valve without the tear aid patch already sticked around? i have the raw valve and need to stick it to the bladder

Can I just glue back the original? I have an inflatable rig one sail, so it is hard to get spare parts.

did you clean all the talcum powder off after you installed the large patch? i noticed after you placed the cardboard underneath the bladder there was no talc anywhere? please clarify i’m stuck at this part of install. cheers

Do you think I can put this on a float tube for fishing? my float tube comes with the cheap twisted knobs so it leaks I was thinking of cutting it out and putting this on it.

Can you switch an old Naish 9mm to a boston valve? What are the pros and cons? Thanks in advance

Yes it is possible, but the leading edge casing needs to be modified to accept the larger Boston valve. We have done several of them, give us a call for a quote if you are interested.
