You mention steering your kite up to 11 or 1 o'clock or even 12. Every other video I've seen says to ride with kite at 45 degrees or 10:30. Am I misunderstanding what you said? Also, Your suggestion of bending my legs makes a lot of sense. I've been jumping for years but have never mastered load and pop. I think that's been holding me back from jumping higher and better. On my way to st Pete right now from Michigan!!

Cool! We have wind the next couple of days and I can show you in person.. But keeping the kite higher, like 11 o clock if youre going to the left makes it easier to "pop" upwards since the kite is a little higher.. Basically allows you to focus and feel the timing of when to pop hard off the water

@@KiteboardingStPetersburg Thanks very much! I'll keep trying. I rode at DeSoto East Beach yesterday. It was great!

It’s all in the details. Now if I can just get that confounded timing down. Some day it’s going to magically happen after a thousand tries then BINGO!

I realize it is kind of randomly asking but do anybody know a good website to stream new tv shows online?

what do you find to be the easiest to learn?

@@KiteboardingStPetersburg Well i started all of this a year ago and to start in my board it took a long time because i was scared of the power of the kite. But when it all worked out i did my transitsions without learning them i just did it and it worked same goes for upwind. But it still scared to loop the kite or anything now i am trying to load and pop for weeks but cant get the feeling for it or know how to do it exactly what video i watch

Your front leg is very much bent as you load up, whereas most people in these tutorials have it more straight. What's better? E.g.: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnXLpJyggJVge6c
@KiteboardingStPetersburg3 жыл бұрын
oh wow. definitely bent.. you can absorb more energy, will feel more stable and can use it to "spring" off the water.
@mjanek203 жыл бұрын
@@KiteboardingStPetersburg nope, I've been experimenting with this. Bent front leg means you put the weight onto it which makes no sense as you should spring-load the back one to do the pop. Please have a look at this tutorial: kzbin.info/www/bejne/faGWkqFpht9mp7s. You actually ride in the toilet seat position with your front leg bent most of the time in this position.

@@mjanek20 this isnt true. Your back leg will be more bent (allows you to have more weight on your back leg) but your front leg will also be slightly bent. It may be more technical but will allow you to absorb more energy so you can pop higher. For example, check out this tutorial of how to KGB. I dont use the kite to jump, this is directly from load and pop kzbin.info/www/bejne/mKvZg5ioaKunfbM

@@mjanek20 or think of yourself jumping on the ground. Could you jump higher if one leg was straight or if you bent both legs and jumped up?
@mjanek203 жыл бұрын
@@KiteboardingStPetersburg look at the video I've sent. Bending the front leg makes the board skid on water which releases the tension in lines. I've been jumping with my front knee bent for half a year and after watching this video I've realized I've been doing it wrong. My jumps became consistent and higher using this technique. Carving the board like shown by woo is sooo much easier. Even looking back over your shoulder creates the proper motion. Try it and you'll see.
