Very well done. This was a very good accounting of events in that era. Just a little supplemental info and two small clarifications. First, Caledor Dragontamer was, to put things in perspective, considered the greatest elf mage in the world right up until the End Times (I think personally that Teclis was probably better, but Caledor lived in an age of limitless magical resource while Teclis was hampered by having less magic in the world to draw on). He was the one who managed to form the alliance between the Elves and the Dragons, and that alliance is the reason that the elven nation of Caledor (which took his name in his honor) was the only region of Ulthuan to successfully resist the original demonic incursions. It was Caledor who first suspected that the cause of the incursions was the collapse of the Old One's warp gates, and in his investigations, he met the dwarfs, who provided him the confirmatory evidence. He told the dwarves his conclusions, and that's what inspired Grimnir to travel north to try to stop Chaos himself. Next, in order to create the Vortex, Caledor built his foundation on the work left behind by the Old Ones. The standing stones he built the Vortex around were part of the spell network that held Ulthuan above the ocean floor. He tapped into this spell to form the foundation, and then expanded the standing stone network to lend it extra support. This fact becomes very important much later down the line... Finally, to be clear, the Keeper of Secrets Aenerion fought was not Shelaxi Helbane (as shown in the picture used in the video), but N'Kari. N'Kari had actually faced Aenerion before, prior to his claiming of the Widowmaker, and having being defeated by him TWICE imbued N'Kari with a deep-seated hatred which he would unleash upon Aenerion's descendants millennia later. If you want to hear a great story of this era, find the audio drama Aenerion by Gav Thorpe. It tells the story of Aenerion claiming the Sword of Khaine.

Well... next part may be spoilers ? But I am unsure because there is additional Lore only found in the Army Books ... so proceed with caution ... Dwarfs didn't just sit and made one last stand. Ancestor God Grimnir armed with two runic axes went with his son to fight off Demons in the old fashioned way ... and they went all the way to the place where Demonic invasion began a single giant portal when Grimnir saw it he know what must be done , he gave one of his axes to his son and send him home and went alone to close the gate from the inside! Only his action made the Ritual in Ulthual possible , elves would not be able to succ all magic because of the portal! Grimnir saved the old world and any1 who thinks otherwise is a victim of the elven propaganda . also it's all from memory so some detail may be different

Will cover stuff like this in later videos. Most likely when I get to the dwarfs. This is just what’s written in the core book for now. I will go back and flesh it out for respective factions when I get to them 😃 but cool that info will be super useful when I make that video

I just found your channel and have been a fan of warhammer when it came to total war and was trying to find videos of lore to watch. So far I think this has been the best, I just have one question not sure if you bring this up later or not. From what I learned on Albion the stone formations they made also helped in lessening the magic of the world and essentially was what allowed the vortex to work. Though I can be completely wrong and would appreciate if anybody could inform me about it. Keep up the great work!

Calador dragon tamer is anarions best friends and the reason anarion has a dragon The reason Anarion was so powerful is because when he went into the shrine of Asurion and enemy into the flame he became the avatar of Asurion the father of gods but then when he draws the widow maker he becomes the avatar of Asurions brother khaine god of war and murder so now avatar of two of she most powerful elves GODS he’s an unstoppable force!

@@Kitetsu Just me chiming in here. One of the advantages of being a High Elf player is that our lore is pretty much the most wide-reaching lore in the canon. While Human (or more specifically, Empire) lore is mostly confined to the continental Old World and the last 2500 years, and Dwarves are notoriously insular and stick to their mountain kingdoms, Elven lore covers nearly the entire history of the World-That-Was and ranges literally all across the globe. Elves had at least a toe in almost every major event pre-Empire, and so most of the lore of Ancient History comes from the Elf army books. The major exception to this is the events in Khemri, but even that was touched off by the arrival of a trio of druchii.

A billion demons... funny how in 40k the 10.000 Custodes, fully armed, would have crushed the whole invasion except the 4 generals. I know there were never more than 10k custodes, but I'd bet that 100k of them with just power armour and no weapon other than their steel clad fists would rip appart the forces of chaos back then.

I know Tolkien's influence is pretty much present in all modern fantasy works, but wow, Warhammer in particular recycled so many names of things and histories from Tolien's work, it really blows my mind. Cool story so far with lots of unique elements, but a bit disappointed with some of the blatant rip offs
@Robustacap3 жыл бұрын
As I have learned some media literacy, I think I can safely say that you're not "reading as you go, so the lore is just as new to you". Certainly I believe it's new, just not that you read it as you make the video as you claim. Just in the beginning to say "Wow does this story get wild now! So let us begin and I have no idea and this is just me reading (without reading actually) and reacting in real-time", and to me you're whole concept becomes a scam to compete in the already wide warhammer tubers... You can say it's after edit, but why edit away what you say it is supposed to be? Still, without your claims, okay introduction to the lore.
@Kitetsu3 жыл бұрын
Okay. Wow. Normally I wouldn’t bother replying to a message like this but seeing as you have some crazy notion that I’m out to dupe people here, I might as well clarify: as I explicitly said in the video “I have only read this information shortly before recording the video”.... this is precisely what I was doing. I would sit down, read the relevant double page spread of the book and then would record a video on it. Whilst recording the video, I had the double page open in front of me to re-read and remind me of what happened. It isn’t a totally live reaction because I read it about 10-20 minutes before I started recording and then added anything relevant into the timeline. As my video making process included me reading those two pages before recording anything....In a sense, we were discovering the lore together as I made the videos. I never claimed anything other than this. And I 100% knew nothing about this lore prior to sitting down and reading it just before recording the video. Everything you hear in those videos are things I had just found out. And they also reflect the near entire extent of my knowledge of Warhammer fantasy, outside of reading some of the Gotrek and felix novels. I wouldn’t let myself read ahead, so it was all new to me. So thanks Sherlock.... you sussed out that I..... was telling the truth?
@Robustacap3 жыл бұрын
@@Kitetsu Thank you for replying, even if my post might have seemed a bit hostile. Your way of making the video as you described above makes total sense, as if you just read it might become a bit cumbersome, if you know what I mean. As you said on video 1 of series (to be continued? Hopefully!), you reading the text like audiobook actor wouldn't work- So I apologize, I was being too pedant and literal again. . As to me 20 mins before isn't the same time as now. And some comments like "She is one of my absolute favorite characters" or "Chaos dwarves deserve a whole own video". Of course I realize it is stupid to claim you know nothing of the Lore or WHF, or shouldn't and I did enjoy your videos. I have mostly been concentrating on WH40k, and your series, if complete was/would be a good starting point to get to know more about Fantasy lore. I, from the bottom of my heart apologize for my moment of petty, futile and possibly hurtful post!
