800 lbs. BUT on your next turtle deck, reverse the side cuts on the deck to top-foremost down to bottom-aft. This will put the hinge/aluminium strip slightly higher up iin the rearward view, and unless that's a critical issue, it will provide a larger opening and simplicity of functionality in us and in instalation,

767.7 for the camlock, if you take the camlock in your fingers, push the head with your thumb, you should be able to extend the pins further down, to allow you to push it through the hole, at an angle, one pin at a time, then shift to the other side, that should allow you to put them in the lexan side, without having to over size drill or notch the lexan. that shower hinge, looks like it would crack and break over time? Did you get in trouble with the Mrs? she did not look very happy, lol

Hey Bryan, one tiny correction (only because I used to sell industrial fasteners). Screw sizes: The 6 and 8 are the screw diameter, and 32 is the thread pitch per inch. Just pronounced "six thirty two" and "eight thirty two". They aren't 6/32nds and 8/32nds as you state. Great vids... carry on.
@jeremykemp37828 ай бұрын
six thirty seconds is the correct engineering way to say it. 6/32. So you were saying it wrong when you were selling them lol
@5xls8 ай бұрын
@@jeremykemp3782 lol, no, I wasn’t wrong. I did it for a long time. Lots of trade shows, industry conventions, presentations, etc. with coworkers and peers. Heard it thousands of times, said it thousands of times. Lots of buying, selling, ordering. A #6-32 machine screw = 6 is the major diameter, and it has 32 threads per inch. The correct terminology for a MACHINE SCREW IS "six thirty two". It is NOT expressed as a (six thirty seconds) fraction (6/32 would be expressed as 3/16 anyway if you're talking about a bolt). Thanks for playing though. You’re fun. lol kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZLEXpucpLGXoZIsi=ZR0Yh5xl-FefKtnT

@@5xls Ah, he was talking about the amount of threads on a screw was he, as in 32 tpi. I thought it was a measurement he was talking about, not how many threads per inch lol. my bad.
@robertcunningham43064 жыл бұрын
Don’t cut the hinge to the width of the turtle deck. There are aluminum strikes that go out to fill the wing gap and you want the hinge to extend out through the cut in those too or they will vibrate in the wind.
@BowenAero4 жыл бұрын
I will be shortening them as suggested by kitfox so that they are only on the upper section

Brian you could always just put carbon fiber vinyl rap on turtle deck to get the affect you won't?? Cheers Alistair
@BowenAero4 жыл бұрын
The purpose for carbon fiber on the turtle deck would be purely to save weight. The turtle deck as is weighs 8 lbs and a Carbon Fiber version would be about 3 lbs.
