So, I am actually using this case. Currently I have a 5900X cooled by a Noctua NH-D15S Chromax Black and an ASUS Strix 3090 GPU below. PSU is a Seasonic GX-1000. I am shocked at how cool this case really runs. The GPU is able to draw its own air from the bottom. Given the 3090's size, there isn't enough room for any fans below the GPU (not that you'd want any). The Noctua cooler also touches the GPU backplate. Having said that, I have thrown full load at this setup and couldn't get it to go above 80C. For fans I have only the front 180mm fan, the single fan for the NH-D15S, and a slim Noctua NF-A12 120mm fan at the back. The only thing I've really done outside the box is the case sits on little feet I cut for it to make it sit higher. I noted a drop in temps on the GPU when raising the bottom up an extra inch, but it's likely due to where my computer sits on my desk. One side is stuck against a wall.

I have one. GPU Thermals are not good. The intake from the 180mm blows cool air across the top of the GPU and the positive pressure seems to trap hot air around the GPU. I reversed the 180mm to exhaust (and also reversed the rear 120mm and CPU fans to intake) and GPU temp dropped 15-20 degrees (RX7800XT). I can game or run stress tests and the fan never has to exceed 700RPM so it's virtually silent. Just need to somehow put a dust filter over the rear fan back panel now.

But it seems like you could probably fit a D15 in there for air cooling, so there is definitely a market for ITX buyers on the higher end of the performance scale.

LMAO its like have they ever seen INTEL matx prices...the cost to run a k chip on M-atx XD. I can understand a 12400 on a b660m Or a b660i. But when i see the amount of vaible b550m and hell i got a 85$ b550m pro vdh as an open box that i sold in a mb311 build. It astonishes me how many ppl want m-atx. I previously used a 205m but it has terrible airflow. i can understand the desire for a good performing m-atx chassis for air cooling that could pass using a 5700xt with an air cooled cpu....as a large basis of worst case scenario. BC they want a beefy gpu and just a few expansion slots like for a capture card. In reality using something like that you would want it further from your gpu bc of heat. But man the recent jump in m-atx more matx love is kind of surprising me. Ive been saying this ever since i built my friend that 10600k build with a well priced 180$ z490m in the lian li 205m. That was the last time i saw a really "decent" k series capable intel m-atx board.

I really dig the design, too bad it's 33L. If they'd go with SFX (reduce height and width) and no 180 in the front (reduce mostly width) this thing would be better imo. I don't understand that 180 anyway, to me 2x140 aircooled or 2x120 on a rad would make much more sense given the mostly open front

Good day sir. I have found your channel by looking for this absolute beauty of a small case. Thanks for showing the different speeds of fans with temp. I agree, not the best. BUT as you said... Normal use would not push that amount of noise and heat @50% fanspeed Ik think the balance between size, beauty, stockfan use performance is something worth noticing. The GPU having acces to basicly fresh air at the bottom makes all the smaller build with risers, that only work correctly with mesh side panels, unnecessary expensive. I do have a question... In your other video there was a noticeable lack of space for cable management in the Torrent Compact (backpanel) Are my eyes still correct by noticing more space in the Nano version at the backpanel? Could you confirm that? Thanks anyway for a quick review/build/testing vid.

Welcome aboard. You are quite correct about cable space in the Compact and Nano. Fractal told me they wanted to reduce the size of the Compact as much as possible but when it came to the Nano they knew the cables on an ATX power supply would necessarily have a good deal of slack so they had to provide space for cable management. I think you reversed the fan RPMs to 75%, that being said, great review. I think the gpu temps are especially high due to the lack of airflow, the 180 fan is way up there to provide better airflow for the cpu cooler and at the same time to provide more compatibility for the length of the gpu.
