Just used your video tutorial to swap out my PS pump. I'm glad this video clearly demonstrated how much better it is to leave the alternator and accessory bracket attached to the engine. No need to fumble around with removing those additional parts.

Wish I would of seen this video a couple weeks ago when I replaced my pump on my 2001 Chevy. Didn’t realize I could leave the pressure line on when pulling the pump out. I also made a few other mistakes along the way. I have to take it all apart again, I didn’t bleed it properly now I got air in my pressure line and it’s causing the pressure line to vibrate when turning the wheel. Great video, I appreciate you taking the time to show this job.

@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair

@K diagnostics I just completed this job on my 2011 Suburban. I changed the o-ring on the high pressure line and it is pouring fluid from the connection. I took it back loose and checked and rechecked. Put it all back together and it still pours fluid when I start the car. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

Brandon Denson make sure the high pressure fitting on the line is good, or you can replace the line and see what happens!!

I had 2 different mechanics tell me different things, 1 says it's my rack and pinion the other says it's my power steering pump. I'm used to hearing the pump wine really loud, but in this case it sounds more like a rubbing sound. I'd hate to change the r & p if it's not that

My 2013 Tahoe is splattering power steering oil from behind the pulley, so does the entire pump need to be replaced? If yes, then would you know the part number of the OEM replacement? Thanks!

rss8400 it sounds like the oil is leaking pass the shaft seal, the entire Pump needs to be replaced, I don't have the OEM part number! you can call your local chevy dealer and get it from them!

You do not start the engine when bleeding, This will cavitate the pump and potentially damaging the pump. You turn the steering wheel 10 times lock to lock to bleed.(making sure the reservoir remains full) Then start engine and turn steering and check for noise, If noisy, turn off engine and repeat

randy miller don't you have to have the pump running to get the air out of the pump?
@randymiller7659
@randymiller7659 3 жыл бұрын
@@KITS_Auto_and_Truck_Repair Yes this is true but you need to get the bulk of air out the system so the pump does not cavitate too long
