That's cuz stunt cars would often have a moulded rubber shell put over and squibs applied whenever KITT's being shot at. Or being bashed or colliding with another car without getting a dent.

I had watched tons of GrayStillPlays’s GTA V videos, and when I saw that Hauler Custom truck that shows up in a few of them I was like “hey wait a minute, isn’t that Garth Knight’s truck from Knight Rider?” lol

I remember watching this as a 5 years old kid in Portugal and being all shocked thinking it was his twin evil brother. Goliath was a classic in the Knight Rider episodes but man how corny it is watching this in 2024 knowing how movie magic works but even adults back in the 80's never mention that certain moments looked fake 😅

Poor kitt even after their defeat against garth still values life more than anything,and you can understand it when he tells michael if he's thinking to use the laser as a weapon! 😉 One of the things were missing from kitt's defences was weapons,he needed some and i always wondering why they didn't gave him some.And that was the reason,kitt didn't build to harm ppl or cause fatal destruction! In the night of the jugernaught however in the final conflict against the ramrod we don't see the driver gets away after the explosion! We might say that he died when he rammed that gass tank! But i do remember i think an original airing showing the driver escaped the vehicle if i remember correctly! 🤔
