I'd like to think that GGG just actually has their lore figured out and you happened to hit the mark with your theory. From my time as a P&P GM i can say that putting in lore afterwards makes it really hard to keep it consistant. That being said I think there might be some GGG employees watching and appreciating that we are invested into their work of the PoE lore. Quick note on that, Heist is by far my favorite league when it comes to NPCs, lore and atmosphere. I hope we get to see this level consistantly with PoE2!!!

The one thing that really bugged me about heist lore wise was that it was never revealed who the boss was, I get that they're supposed to be mysterious but we were balls deep into contracts and blueprints for all the rogues, we deserved to know.

Haha, I knew you'd have a field day with the Heist league, considering all the lore packed in NPC dialogues, objects flavor text and even in the environment and level design (like Lilly Roth, Hargan and even Gravicius chilling in the Rogue Harbor at some point during the campaign). I really like the way the game approaches story and lore in this league, one of the best so far from GGG. On the subject of tinfoil hats and conspiracies, I for one firmly believe the cat with the bowtie and monocle is the mastermind orchestrating everything that's happening on Wraeclast.

I also believe that, seriously, it makes the most sense. Boss doesn't like being approached from the back/side/above?? That's definitely a cat! I'm definitely waiting for more heist lore stuff! Please enlighten me about the enigmatic devices, if there's anything about them anywhere besides the item flavour texts. It feels like a great place to hide some mystery, but I haven't found any. Not that I looked too hard... Great job so far!

Speaking of Heist, there are loads of Contracts for a certain Count Geonor who has apparently been trying to stage an Ezomyte uprising of sorts. There's one contract in particular where the target is the Crest of Ezomyr, which Geonor says is quintessential to the revival of both his own family and his heritage. I guess Geonor could be the dude from the PoE 2 trailer sentencing the Exiles to death.

Hey thanks for letting me know! I have gotten some crests of Ezomyr but didn't know about count geonor. Where did you see that info? I'm putting together an excel sheet for all the lore easter eggs and this helps put some pieces together!

@@KittenCatNoodle You're welcome :D I think it was on league launch, me & some friends decided to check all the lore on Wakano's contracts and we got the one called Records Office where the client was Count Geonor and the target item was called Crest of Ezomyr. It read "A symbol of my birthright and claim to my fiefdom. I must have it if I am to return my family to its rightful place". There's another target, also associated with Geonor, that I think had something to do with the Original Ashes but the one above is the only bit I can accurately recall.

I just found your channel and really like the content, there is so much lore that I didn't know about thru flavor text I'm glad you brought it too lights it's quite entertaining. Nah, this isn't Activision making shit up 5 minutes before a patch releases. I think there are too many threads and obscure references scattered across the game for GGG to not have a dedicated narrative crew.

GGG has a lore bible that has remained pretty consistent except for a couple shake ups. Eye of Chayula I think has been in the game since the beginning watching us. With the highest tier scarabs, we learn the reason dominus probably went crazy was Chayula.

LET'S TAKE IT NEXT FUCKING LEVEL. Heist indirectly confirms Solaris and Lunaris were originally maraketh. But we know Solaris and Lunaris were Azmeri Gods that were adopted by the Eternals. So Maraketh are now possibly as old as the Azmeri, Solaris and Lunaris Ascended to Godhood and the Azmeri adopted Lunaris and Solaris or The Azmeri formed, the Maraketh formed after the Azmeri, Solaris and Lunaris Ascended to Godhood and the Azmeri adopted Lunaris and Solaris Both possibly *In response to the Lightless*, as Moon Light and Sun Light. But that leaves us Viridi? Lunaris and Solaris are clearly related to Viridi. Is it...possible...Viridi was actually an Azmeri Goddess who *indoctrinated* Solaris and Lunaris *into* the Azmeri which would explain why Solaris and Lunaris were mad? *We know Solaris drove away the Lightless directly*. It's possible this act was actually the act prismatic eclipse refers too. But Viridi is trapped inside the earth possibly... Does that mean she could be possibly unaffected by the beast in terms of distance or even overpower it? We already know there is an *entity* in the earth that controls that speaks to people, giving them *secrets and powers*. Something like the *Spirit*. Something like the *Corruption*, that leaks out of the earth. Something like the *Darkness*. We know there is apparently some kind of power at the deeper levels of the earth Dominus refers tapping into for the teleporter. The proto-vaal had to pay pilgrimage to the *entity*. The Azmeri and Eternals had sacrificial Dark Shrines. BUT. Oshabi worshiped the corruption, who Oshabi thought was the spirit, confirmed by GGG. So if Oshabi worshiped *the corruption*, and we assert Oshabi was actually worshiping Viridi... Viridi = Goddess of the Earth = Goddess of Corruption = Goddess of Sacrifice. Kind of like the Goddess of Radiation Almost which explains why she can affect maps. Is it a stretch?..... No. It's why Forbidden Shanko has that description. Viridi is an Azmeri God of Sacrifice and Corruption. Viridi will weep if an Azmeri uses Skill gems because it means accepting the Beast's power and corruption over Viridi's power and corruption. Why is that important? The description is "Viridi will weep". A goddess of corruption weeping = Literal Death. See replica Forbidden Shako! "I believed I understood Prototype #112 quite fully, until a test subject with Azmeri ancestry donned it. I will be haunted by the results for the rest of my life." An azmeri wore the helmet, and Viridi responded "weeping corruption". This has a *very significant* lore impact. If we accept Forbidden Shako had to come after the Beast put the Gods to Sleep since it has skill gems, then that means Viridi was NOT put to sleep since she punishes Azmeri who use skill gems. Which also supports Viridi was the spirit talking Yeena and Oshadi, who are Azmeri. Viridi was trapped and never went to sleep! Quite a literal overpower or even possibly the true source of the beast's power who just absorbed Viridi's power to put the other Gods to sleep. One could even argue, the corruptions effects got much worse *after* we killed the beast. Sin is *FLYING CHAOS*, deriving power from THE PHYSICAL EARTH. Viridi might be an actual OG God or Monster here. Not like the other Gods who rose through admiration. Like a literal being and source of corruption. This has been my Kitten Cat Noddle Video super theory, issue #3.

He took 60% of my resistances permanently BTW "Oshabi, as warden of the Sacred Grove, oversees the garden in which most of the Harvest gameplay happens. I'm not sure this is your line of preference but i noticed that there is one thing that is still not calculated at all in this game. The ''1% reduced mana reserved'' from the corruption on jewels is NOT working in any form or manner. Can you make some noise about this ???
