2:25 so I guess the faraduin are a new lore piece since they are what the discarded children of the maraketh become if they get picked up by them.

Great first video. Been playing poe 2 since early access launch but barely discovered your channel. Looking forward to watching the rest of the series.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. Hugs and prayers for you. I love your lore videos! Like you say I love watching and way back in the day no one was making poe1 vids so thanks to you I had some clue as to what was going on in the game. Other vids are also good, yours will just always be the OG to me =)

"Doryani is missing" hits different after playing PoE2...
@dripfeedtothebrain8 күн бұрын
I need say it because watching this I get the idea that the beast is doing more than just putting gods to sleep. I think it is also containing divinity. If one would wish to become a god it may need to access it through the beast. If doriani ascended to god hood then he would fall asleep. Malachi by untethering his organs essentially either didn’t fully ascend to god hood or tying his godhood to the beast allowed for him to remain awake. Also small aside could be that Malaki had to kill dorioni and replace his organs as the core. Rejuvenating the beast.

You’ve already contributed a lot to the PoE community. Nothing wrong slowing down and passing the torch so to speak. And sorry to hear about your loss. I understand what it’s like to have an irl event(+shift to ft work here too) deflate motivation and complicate remaining consistent with producing content for a channel. It’s completely understandable, and I’m new to the channel but take a leap assuming no one would think less of you for doing so who is a fan of this channel. Thx again for making those compilations. They were good watches and have me more pumped to get further into 2, maybe even replay 1 here :D

Another kitten cat noodle here. Can confirm, best lore vids. Attack cursor on TV just like when my hooman plays game, and calm voice keeps hooman still on couch so I can use heated lapseat with no fuss. 10/10. (Purring away while writing just staring at TV after tiring himself chasing cursor around lol Start using these like reading a bed time story for him 😂 - the hooman)

*Fumbles with starting the vid and accidentally skips to **57:00* *instantly subs* Also thx for making these. Trying refresh my memory reading the wiki, constantly moving between hyperlinks as reading lol Much more comprehensible to have someone speak about it out loud.

I wanted to message you that after getting the supporter packs, the some of the statues give years for their defeats. Hillock and Dominus in 1599 IC, Kitava in 1600 IC. I think this helps give a much more definitive timeline of events in Path 1, since it means the construction projects of Avarius, in spite of how large they were, DID take place in less than two years, since an official GGG forum post says he didn't cement power until after we kill Dominus. IDK if you'll use any of that given what you've said about your life and slowing down on doing any lore videos, but just in case I wanted to bring it to your attention.
@CasuallyCompetitive969 күн бұрын
How much I have to pay you for you to do a massive compilation of the timeline (in order of lore) and release it into 1 video.

59:59 i thought it was clearly a letter to the Boss, he's talking about how all Kalguuran settlers are scared shitless of their own King despite their best efforts to hide it and that the Rogue Harbor's agents (Faustus and Isla) are currently well placed to wait and see what will happen going forward.

Good stuff playing PoE 2 and had no idea what was going on, binge watched your stuff. You going to make a PoE 2 lore breakdown per act as well?
@redcell963610 күн бұрын
I was looking up the lore just because i was curious about PoE2, because of how big of a monolith it would be to get into PoE1. But i am intrigued at not only did the devs take inspiration from real-life for the lore; they tranformed it into this "what if eveyone existed on a giant super-continent and how would divergent evoltuion for societies." And its so cool looking at the Vaal and seeing the three major pyramid/ziggurats cultures that make them up is cool. I do think that if the Aztec culture had been in closer proximity to the "Old World" earlier in our history they would have been a big influence; even more so than today. The idea of "location flipping" for these civilizations that are fleshed out amazingly; is cool. Desert proto-japan/Han Dynasty china... but also slightly Ptolemaic, but like also not. Is cool.

Very late comment here but after playing through poe 2, the quote at 28:00 "before crimson touches the mountain peak" could talk about the beast being reborn and brought somewhere?

One could argue, I think persuasively, that Chitus' use of cunning and resources is a perfectly legitimate way to complete a trial for emperor; the power of a ruler is to delegate and use resources, after all. The assumption of others, including Wylin, that the Labyrinth is solely meant to determine the Emperor through force of arms created a blind spot that Chitus took advantage of, demonstrating foresight and reasoning, and his ability to manipulate Weylin to succeed in his aims shows his ability to manipulate and control even his opponents. If anything, the way he completes the Labyrinth makes Chitus *more* suitable as a ruler, not less.

if time behaves differently around the lake, then it isn't entirely out of this realm that it can reflect time itself. and if time is a circle, the entrapment of kalandra might also make some sense (can't really describe what's in my head, "wibbly wobbly timey wimey" stuff, but), something along the lines of trying to leave towards one "end", but then looping back from/through the other. another thought riding on the time related theorizing: maybe kalandra didn't enter from an earlier point in time (closer to the beginning of time), but rather towards the end of time? these ideas have no real basis, i'm fairly new to the lore

Is there any possibility that the King of Kalguur is in fact the mysterious master of the Heist Ring? You mention he has a passion for one other thing (which you said might be chasing after ancient artifacts) and the fact that Faustus is probably loyal to him, as well, might make that a possibility. Of course, Faustus might well chase after the approval of a noble anyway, but it would be interesting in the context of his being willing to extend a charter to the people we see in Kingsmarch, despite their issues.
