Keep sharing your love for old hondas. So far, only a couple of models have attracted the eye of serious collectors (NSX's and 4th Gen Preludes), but as sure as the sun rises, pretty soon any pre 2000 honda in decent nick will be a collectors item.

As a student, I had a 1981 5-speed 4-door Accord sedan in a particularly fetching shade of bronze/brown (this was in the 90s). Such a great car, surprisingly quick, mechanically extremely strong. I think I put about 80,000km on it over 3-4 years but moving to Wellington (funnily enough, I lived on the street you drove along - I recognised my old flat!) was its undoing - Honda's poor rust proofing was no match for Wellington's salt-laden winds and I had to sell it quickly before the rust got too much worse. Loved that car though.

This is the Honda that started success from Soichiro's hardwork through poverty and disasters, his desire breathe life on Honda, now he is happy it grew as one of the best automotive brands, had 2000 Honda city as our first company car, Second we had 2009 Civic 1.8 and 2 CRVs 2016 and 2021 .

The man is right on the money with this car. I had one and it had the Star Drive semi auto gear box. Lever change but with no clutch pedal. Utterly reliable. Superb car and fast for a 1.6. Good fuel economy too. I sold it about 25 years or so ago for £350. I wish id still got it. It was silver. I paid £1000 for it with 35k on the clock. Genuine milage. I'm gutted to have let it go. Now worth £3k or so. It was also rust proofed with Zeibart protection. Looked dul but no rust. Stunning car! Honda cars don't go wrong!!

Love these videos. Thank you for this. My dad had one close like this many years ago, if i remember, he sold it around 2003. It had same color interior, digital clock, 5 speed manual, but outside it was this beautiful green color. He loved that car, i do too now that im older, bummer he seld it. But as we are from Croatia, not many Hondas around, and certenly not many Hondas that old, parts would be hell to find, and we cant even find that one that dad sold in 2003. Keep up with great videos.

I had a 1980 Accord hatchback in the 1990's and it was a wonderful car. Economy cars were made very badly. Honda and Toyota rewrote the book on quality. I still have dreams where I'm driving her around Austin, Texas. A Jeep CJ7 pulled in front of me and totaled her. I rejoined the Honda family when I purchased a 2019 Honda Civic mostly from the enjoyment I got from my old Accord..

Wow! Me too! I drove a beige 1981 four-door Honda Accord for many years and I still have dreams about it too. In my dreams, I am so happy that I am back in my Honda accord. After 30 years of Toyota ownership, I recently bought a new Honda just because I still miss my Honda accord.

My first car. Bought for $300 cdn. Put $300 in to making it road legal and it lasted 3 years. And yes you can burn through a set of tires if your 16 in 6 months. Lol.

If you are staggered by this car imagine what they were like when released in '77. Honda was at the top of it's game then and nobody could touch them. Then Mazda released the fwd 323 in '80 and spoiled Honda's party.

@@Matowix nah its actually owned by Honda NZ as a show car - it goes around all the dealerships with a bunch of other cars like the NSX, the blue ec8 and yellow Eb civic I reviewed, and some other cool stuff like an S600, S660, convertible city, and a whole lot more

@@KiwiCarLife I'm pretty sure the 18,318 km its showing is the original km.I worked for Honda Cars Manukau City from 1994 till 2000, (I see the key tag is still on there)and I believe this car was traded in by the original owner and our sales manager purchased it. I'm pretty sure it had about 15,000 km then and even still had the factory original tyres on it which I see in the video they have been replaced due to age no doubt. Such a great looking car in a time warp.
