One of the best cars ever made. Powerful and light weighted. Good acceleration. Spacy and good looks. Very reliable. Extremely good gasmileage. Easy to fix. Had one 1978 model and never found again such a good car. Yours is like new.

Agree, 81 accord was my first, same car as this- I put over 300.000 miles on it, they just were bad about head gasket and case bearings going bad in tranny.. But rode just like the 18 model's today.

I owned a 78 Accord hatchback. Living on the gulf Coast of Texas the salt air rusted the fenders out, but mechanically it never failed me. Probably the most dependable car I ever owned. I currently drive a 2002 Civic LX with 195,000 miles, still going strong.

That rust is nothing, it is almost 40 years old. I love this car. I owned it new in 1981. I put 180,000 miles on this car and it still ran great. It saved my life when a giant old cadillac T-Boned me, the doors protected me and I was able to drive home. I miss this car, it was light, nimble, and could get through blizzard snow with no problem.I love this car. I owned it new in 1981. I put 180,000 miles on this car and it still ran great. But I'm excited that this awesome car is going to introduce me to a new level of car culture. Very cool car! I love Hondas. I currently drive a 2005 CR-V with a stick myself! Great car! Best thing you can do as far as the sputtering is concerned on startup I believe there are some additives that you can use to help remedy that. I'm not exactly sure which ones are best suited for this but I have heard that there is some stuff that you can buy at your local autoparts store that will address this issue.

This car, with the same Oregon plates, is on ebay right now. Looks like the chipped windshield was replaced. The scratches aren't disclosed in the listing. It is also listed as only 26K miles total on ebay, not 126K with a rebuilt motor. The language used is very specific now that I know what the truth is behind it. Listing says "This 1980 Honda Accord is a clean example in a classic period color that shows 27K miles on its 1.8-liter inline-four and 5-speed manual transmission. ". Now that I know it is 127K miles, that makes much more sense, albeit intentionally deceptive. Ran across both of these because this was the first car I had (same color, model, year, etc.) in high school. Clutch was known to be both pretty fragile and also expensive to replace. Is it you who is selling it on ebay for almost $8000?

I've only ever seen 2 in my life: one owned by a student at community college and one that's been sitting in someone's backyard on my street. I wonder what they'd sell theirs for considering most of the body is covered in light rust
@MrPaultiwanger3 жыл бұрын
The best new car I have ever had .the reason you don't find them is that the dealership would put chrome wheel well covers and where they would put the screws it would rust .I bought Rusy Jones rust proof but they would not honor the warranty because of the dealership add on .Total bullshit. So I had car redone .it was perfect the last time I saw it . Mine was dead quiet when I would sit at a light my passengers thought it died
