Based on what I saw in this video, the PNP protesting and demanding to see the mayor was actually a futile effort. They involved you in the process, which was not a good look on their part, especially since they interrupted a meeting. It’s my understanding that, if a sitting council member dies, it is the Minister of Local Government who has the authority to call a by-election to fill the vacancy. The mayor of the parish does not have the power to call an election, and the prime minister is not involved in this process.
