Give the Channel Locks an extra squeeze and they close up tight. I like the way they are gappy without gripping & squeezing them. I like the feel of the grip it reminds me of old USA made needlenose from the 70s ,80s. Btw I have old 80s USA made Craftsman with the black "sandpapery" rubber grip and I like these ChannelLocks just as much as them. Good review man thanks!

It seems to me that all 3 are great quality and each one could have it's place. A lot of times when you need a needle nose, the little differences matter. For a certain applications, the little gap on the channellocks might be exactly what you need. It's nice to have a variety to pick from.

Channel locks are designed to perform in less than ideal conditions. Outdoor elements and grime and not always pristine, climate controlled environments. The little looseness and gaps in their design make them more conducive to performing with less frequent and easier maintenance. While both Klien and Knipex are definitely high quality, their price alone almost demand more attention and care be taken. It would be interesting to see tests on the same tools in typical situations of neglect rather than ideal scenarios.

My old channellocks would rust and bind up while my knipexs don't rust, never bind, and the handles don't come off.

Cool, which one does not have a gap when close and which can twist heavy duty things like thick aluminum or wire? God bless.

The gap in the channellocks is purposely built in. When grabbing or pulling wire you don’t crush the hell out of it

My Knipex, wiha and nws pliers have a small gap between the grips. I thought they were designed that way so the cutters come together properly?

I don't like the pliers were the serations go streight accross. They will not twist wire without slipping or twist a small nut.

The Knipex appear to be 8 inches while the kliens I believe are 7 inches. From my experience I would say Knipex are the leader if used as either a mechanic or electronic technician. If you are in the field doing service calls Channellocks are hard to beat. Codeblue comfort handles still would cost maybe a third less than Knipex or kliens. But to a union electrician your never going wrong with Klein pliers.

Do another video but compare the knipex to the Channellock E318 , and rhen you can tell me what you think. Also read the box itll tell ya what the features on the pliers are for. Please make a comparison video for the channellock E318 Vs the Channellock like I did , I am trying to get people to do it 👏

Good review. I see so many that review brand names that rebrand tools from everywhere. All my pliers are gravitating toward the knipex brand. But with my knipex long nose pliers they are almost too springy. I kept my old stiff long nose pliers for when I want to crank and yank on something.

I really wish knipex did better with their needle nose handles. They just don’t feel comfortable in my hand it seems like they round them out a bit much. I returned them because of this and ordered some wiha needle nose pliers and I hope they feel a bit better.

Channellocks, I have both, made a video and I love my channellocks, there is different pliers that are more of a fair comparison 😁

As others have stated.. It all depends what line of work your in and how there to be used. I own the 1st two. The yellow handle ones live in my plumbing bag and the red ones reside in my electricians pouch. But, those blue handle ones would make a nice fit in my all purpose general handyman bucket boss..

The steel in the Knipex is not as hard as in the Klein. The Channelock steel is even softer. Not a problem in copper but try cutting hardened steel.

My channellocks are broken first use. Knipex steel bends channellock are brittle never tried Klein, but I prefer snap on over any they are like channellock but they don't break

What part of the Channellock tool broke? And how did you manage to bend the Knipex tool?
@andystoolbox

@@timsworkshop85 The knipex bends from what i have seen on youtube like I said I have Snappy needle nose never got Knipex, but my channellock needle nose did break first use on a tab I was trying to bend with them. Just could not take it. I do own other german pliers and they are very reliable never broke one.

I have mostly Knipex pliers at work and in my opinion they make some of the best pliers (and cutters) out there. I do have a pair of Knipex and Channellock needle nose pliers at home and I will say the Knipex pair does work better. Btw, unless it is absolutely the only way to bend material, a pair of needle nose pliers would be the last tool I would use for that. They just aren’t made for that. However, as a mechanic I know what it’s like to use whatever you have to get a job done.

@@timsworkshop85 Yup it was one of those situations exactly needed a pair of needle nose to get in on it and start the bend so I could punch it flush with a chisel but they broke. Now don't get me wrong I have other channellocks that I use and abuse all the time, never had a problem with any other than those needle nose. I just thought people might want to know. Still love channellock pliers but as you said sometimes you need a tool that can stand up to abuse and be misused. I'd rather they bent than snapped as well, I spend a good amount of time bending tools back into shape ie. C-clamp handles pliers tips, screwdriver blades and much more just to name a few.

I pronounce knipex like you would knife 🗡 cause you wouldn't open your packages with a kanife would you. And also there is such a plier called LONG NOSE cause not every plier that looks like these in the video are called needle nose. Besides needle nose pliers don't have side cutters I have Klein version of these pliers and they say on the package LONG NOSE PLIERS. I HAVE SOME needle nose pliers and are skinny and slimmer than these and don't have side cutters. Sorry to burst peoples bubble if you buy pliers like these and it says long nose pliers then don't call or confuse them and call them needle nose pliers cause there is such a tool as LONG NOSE PLIERS TOO (with all respect).
