Just bought this jacket at chap, apparently the last 4x size available anywhere. Klim said they will not be back in stock until November 2021

Hello, it's quite close to true to size, but refer to the sizing chart before purchasing. The newer version offer a softer more relaxed feel.

Yes. The armor pockets are large enough to accept Level 2 D3O armor. Fitting... basically your t-shirt size. I wear a Large T and the Large jacket fits me perfect. I am 5' 9" and weigh in at 195 lbs wearing a 34 pant. -- Kyle & the Chap Moto Team

The colors for this are listed as black/red but next to your bright red shirt it almost looks orange. Is it closer to red in person?

"Half way" closer to red in person.... I can say that it does not look Orange in person. But it is not a vibrant red red.

I have one in my cart. Question. Does the jacket block the sun. I live in Florida and it is hot and there is a lot of sun so want to be sure I can ride all day in the direct sun and not be a problem with sun burn. I have a Klim Latitude jacket now and it is great when it is cooler but in the summer months it is brutal. Do you guys not take credit cards?

Hi JW, I would say you'll probably be safe from sunburn. While the bulk of the mesh is in the torso area, that would be covered by your tee shirt or whatever you are wearing under the jacket. There is mesh in the inner forearm but depending on the type of bike you ride and your riding position that may not see a lot of sun. The only area I see you might get burned is in the small mesh area around the back of the neck. Other than that I think you'll be OK. Hope that helps.

Hey, Mr Bradshaw, I'm 5'8 190 with a 46 inch chest. Would i fit the large or an xl? Also want to be able to put a Hoodie under it during cooler months. Thank you!

Hello according to Klim's size chart based on your chest size you'd be at the low end of the XL (46-48) so that would probably be the size to go with.

Are the forearm adjuster straps actually asymmetric or is this a pre-production sample?

it looks like they somehow managed to pass the sleeve through the adjuster loop, because i see the buckle is also reversed. just need to reverse it

@@chaparralmotorsports their stuff is good. Ugly but very good. Biggest footprint when it comes to armor. I'm protected from shoulder to wrist. Chest armor that is huge. And a huge back plate. They claim it's the best armor in the biz. The quad armor that is. Haven't tested on pavement thank goodness but have offroad. Didn't even feel a 30 mph get off lol. I've ridden in triple digits. It isn't as cool as nothing obviously. But tremendous airflow even with all that armor. They are a California company I believe. The closest comparison would be the klim adventure rally air jacket. Though the klim is slicker in terms of construction. I don't think it's more protective.

You comment on the fabric being coarse. Is this coarse enough to scratch the tank (sport bikes). Anyone have experience? Thanks!

Hi Ron, the mesh fabric is similar to that found on other mesh jackets. It's not so rough that it would damage your tank. If in the unfortunate event that you find that it scratches the tank you should be able to buff the scratches out.
