19:40 we played a scenario with Klingon opera singer as a major npc. The singer had her precious necklace stolen just after the performance, and they asked for Starfleet help to track it and retrieve it. The opera house was built into a living volcano and it was gothic as hell :D

37:15 amazing idea for mixing Hur'q and gods being slayed by Klingons :)

I loved every moment of this. This was one of the BEST episodes you've had! But I will say, I'm surprised you never mentioned the Klingons as an allegory for the USSR and the iron curtain empire, engineering with a reputation for being roughly done, etc. Especially with Star Trek VI being a strong "fall of the Berlin wall" allegory.

also that the empire had a lot of "unpaid interns" during this era, but that was from federation statements...

I know and love that allegory. Sadly, younger GMs and players might not resonate as strongly with that nowadays, so I tend to avoid bringing it up every time I talk about Klingons. However, I do bring it up anytime someone watches Undiscovered Country.

I always felt that Klingons would have more Skalds than Bards.

We see the Klingon cook in the Enterprise episode with the Klingon ship sinking in a gas giant. Maybe the only Klingon not a warrior or ambassador on screen?

Come to think of it. There is the Klingon colony of the captured Klingons who abandoned their warrior culture in captivity by the Romulans. A Worf centric episode of TNG.
