You have done a fantastic job converting the basement. My kids would drool over this. You guys are so lucky to have basement space which is a rarity here in Australia. As for your sound set-up, I must be one of the few who like Klipsch. I use my theatre for music as much as movies and I love the way they look and sound.

The style & execution is spot on. His atmos speaker placement is fine. Atmos is object based so the avr will process correct audio. However, the dipole style speakers he is using for rear surrounds are a bad choice. They cloud proper imaging when used in that location. They work best as side surrounds when you have multiple rows of seats. Also, he needs a dedicated 4k blu-ray player. Don't use a gaming console. A Panasonic 820 would be a noticeable difference. Lastly, since that is an "open floor plan", 1 sub won't do. 2 minimum, but 4 Ideally. And you don't need to angle the sub towards the seats. Low frequency bass is not directional. Overall... a great finished space! Props on the pristine rack. That's how it is done.

Very modern looking room. I'm sure it's very relaxing to sit and watch a movie there. I would scoot the atmos channels back to surround the seating. The only other upgrade for the future would be like he stated and that is a projector. Have to say though, his craftsmanship and handy work looks great

Fantastic job Phill with converting your basement into one awesome movie space for you and your family to enjoy amazing movie/arcade days! It almost looks like a showroom floor with how well it’s done. The interior design elements are beautiful, crisp, and oh so clean. I love how the gorgeous backsplash from the kitchen carries over to the TV wall (outstanding). The front stage looks so good with those grey on grey tones anchored down with the black/gold klipsch (grills off of course). The low level fireplace (so 😎) really brings the cozy😃. Boy the fun must be on level 9000 for your kids when gaming on that 86” panel 🤤. For such a minimal cinema space and it’s really set up for maximum joy 🤩 This fun zone is the perfect first-aid kit for any bad day🤩😎. Well done Phill!!!! What’s up my dear friend Sarkis! Kick @$$ intro (really got blood pumping)😁. Rise of Skywalker is blast (esp in 3D). Best HT channel period 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

I'm a bit of a Home Cinema purist so for me this is more of a TV snug (& a very nice one 😁) than a Home Cinema room . For me first off the TV would be gone & replaced with a PJ & fixed large AT screen. Then I'd be putting up some stud walls so the HT was a dedicated cinema room & separated from all the open areas such as the large kitchen, open stairway, large double glass doors etc so you could have some sort of control over the acoustics. Then I'd add the appropriate acoustic treatments (absorbers & diffusers etc) to the walls & ceiling… but I get this is not everyones cup of tea!😅

As the color of the room is light, I think this LG 86” TV is a good choice. One of the issue that uses a projector in Taiwan is it will be quite uncomfortable when a earthquake strikes which happens quite often. A TV can always keep the room bright, I like it. Thanks for sharing and I really like the Squid Game light in the back.

As i am just finishing my basement theater i can appreciate all of the hard work he put into his theater. 10 for that. I would keep the tv for gaming as it has hdmi2..1 ports x2. I would get rid of the Klipsch towers and go with their THX in walls for front L and R. Would compliment his theater much better. A second sub hands down it is a big area to fill with bass. Projector wise something by JVC if he wants ultimate blacks (still rocking my x35B). I am with D.L on Klipsch. There is better for the money.

That is an impressive room, so clean. But if I were to make any upgrade I would dump that 120sw and add a pair of svs pb3000 or similar. The harder hitting subs will give you that immersive feeling. Subs would give you the biggest bang 💥💥💥 “literally” for the buck. Great job 👍

Beautiful theater! I would definitely suggest adding a second subwoofer and maybe upgrading the TV to a 98' Samsung QLED or the Sony 100' TV. Yes he could go with a projector but in that multi-use space where it seems like the lights are on a lot an actual TV works better.

I love the clean look of the room and how you incorporated the kitchen and gym. I see many people are down on the Klipsch speakers, and even though I too not in libe with their sound, they are a good speaker and many people really like their forward sound. If you like the sound they provide, then there is no rush to upgrade. The two things I would suggest that will greatly increase your movie experience. First, try to find a way to relocate your Atmos speakers. You really want a pair behind and a pair in front of your MLP to give you balanced height sensations. I would also recommend a speaker that either as an aimable tweeter or angled drivers so the sound can go towards the listener and not aimed straight down. By relocating the speakers the same distance in front and behinds, the sound will really follow what is happening in the height channels and work seemlesly with what is on the screen. The entire idea of the speakers is to create an equal 360 degree sound stage. Secondly, you need to add a second sub, especially with a room that size. It will greatly enhance and balance your bass. With one sub, you would be shocked at how many nulls and holes you have in the bass, even from seat to seat. The difference this will make in. Your room is staggering. I would also recommend a MiniDSP to help time in the subs specifically to your room to get more performance. Moving from a single to dual subs can provide the biggest sound upgrade to your theater. You have an extremely great base to work with and as you get the theater bug, you will tinker and do upgrades and these are the two I would suggest you start with and way before you consider a projector. The size of screen can improve your experience, but improvement in audio will enhance your experience to the next level and make you feel like you are in the middle of the movie. Speaker placement is the most important part to full emersive theater experience, you can have $100k in speakers, but if they are not positioned properly, a $5k system will out perform it.

I would do two SVS PC3000 or PC4000 because of the open space and Klipsch bookshelf speakers for SB hanging from the ceiling. I would upgrade the center channel with a RP450C or RP504C to better match the towards. Remove items from on top of the subs as that could interfere with the sound. Great Job PM

Great space, and love me a clean looking rack. I think I’d recommend stepping up the center channel to the RP450C or RP504C, but I’m assuming he went with his current one bc its front ported. I’m not sure if it would be an issue doing a rear ported model mounted on the wall like that, but maybe can just plug the port and cross it over a little higher than normal. Either way its a great media room. Jealous of the gym space.

I hate to say it but Klipsch is over rated and over priced. Although many still love them as do many still love Bose. Nothing wrong with that, what ever floats your boat. Just my opinion.
@mfkhometheater77423 жыл бұрын
Everyone has their own opinion, I'm not a big fan of well... any commercially available speaker but I see Klipsch as a pretty good and affordable option for most average people. I don't think I would call them over rated, they do have a big fan base and as long as those people enjoy them and feel they got their money's worth then it's a good value product. It's the Wilson Audio's and JMLab's etc of the audio world that I see as over rated and definitely over priced, not Klipsch. I have far more respect for Klipsch than any of those ultra expensive brands. While I wouldn't put Klipsch or any other commercially built speakers in my own theater I could still enjoy watching movies in a home theater equipped with Klipsch, probably not with Bose but definitely with Klipsch. Well definitely not with Bose, I've done that and it was too hard to understand the dialog.

@@mfkhometheater7742 I think Focal has come full circle in Being considered for Home Theater Sound! Especially when you compare the entry level chora series to anything from Klipsch, B&W as well as many others. Not to mention that even though these are affordable and entry level they are entirely hand made drivers and cabinets in house. Hardly any other speaker brands at the price of the Chora are hand crafted and as refined. But I do agree that bose is no where in the world of home theater nor should they attempt. My 2 cents 🤷
