I ordered the RP- 280 yesterday and they forgot to pull it off from their website as it’s discontinued and they messaged me apologizing for the inconvenience and would send me the 8000 with a price match of the 280’s, honestly not even mad, quite happy tbh

OMG!!! The RP-280F now sounds like $1000000 speakers with the crossovers from RF-3 II. Yes I have the time and knowledge to do this :) now I have speakers sooooo clear, sooooooo balanced and will never sell ever again!! I was going to email Klipsch and ask them why they put POS crossovers in the new speakers!!!! Trust me on this!

I bought my RP-6000f’s in walnut last month. Being my first Klipsch speakers I love them. Sound so much better than my JBL Northridge series bookshelves from the early 2000’s I’ve been running. I've been told the tractrix horn is slightly different but the same for the most part other than the cosmetic changes. Fortunately, I found a local Fry's Electronics who had a promo code for the 280F's for dirt cheap. They only had one but I took it anyway. Hoping Klipsch or a retailer has them on sale for Black Friday so I can get the matching speaker.

Some of these new RP models don’t seem to offer much over their predecessors. Everyone is going nuts over the new RP-600m’s but they’re almost identical to the RP-160m’s. @intrinsicfreedom
@intrinsicfreedom 5 жыл бұрын
I am now running the Marantz SR5013 with the RP280F and the combination is quite delicious. I will say that I've spent many hours over many days tinkering with speaker positioning. I highly suggest working with the 1/5ths rule. You sit 1/5 the way into the room and place the speakers 1/5 of the distance away from their closest walls. I also worked at the toe-in, with the focus of the speaker a foot or so behind my head,. The calibration software in the Marantz does a splendid job of adding further balance to the speaker and I think you will have a very difficult time making a big step to so-called "higher" Fi without dropping a huge load of added coin. I've spent some time in listening rooms auditioning four thousand dollar amplification setups and they do not seem to me to provide anything but a subjective improvement over the Marantz. The 100W is more than ample for this speaker setup and when I attempt to play my system at reference levels it is just too much volume, for anything but a short burst.

Nice video, I can say the recent Klipsch have had my attention. But as a Paradigm guy, I was always under the impression that Paradigms were known to have a more "laid back" type of sound. And with Klipsch usually being described as a more "forward" type of sound, would it be arguable that the Paradigms sound signature wasn't so much "muffled" as you described it as much as they're just a different type of sound? We all hear things differently and have different preferences, but Paradigm in general has always been well regarded as having good sounding well made speakers...

you are right. The klipsch are more in your face and paradigm are smooth and refined. For most people that arent going to listen to super hifi content they may never really notice a huge difference in between the two. I like Paradigm but i just cant afford the ones i want. Yeah my experience with Klipsch is rather limited, but I've always been curious. My buddies or family that have been into home theater either went with cheap speakers, NHT, Polk, Def Tech or Paradigm and none of them that I experienced have horn loaded drivers. I miss Paradigm's older lines like their Studio and Signature lines that they no longer make. I was hoping their new Premier line was a new version of the Studios, but that's just more of a thought than reality. I currently run a mix of Paradigm Studio and Monitor lines that work great for me.

Great video, I want to see what the RP-500AS can do vs the RP-140SA. So far I know they can take 75 watts rms vs the 50 watts rms on the smaller drivers, I always though to my self, what the hell was Klipsch thinking when they made the 4 inch drivers into Atmos when they should have gone with 5.25 inch drivers. Considering that I've seen in ceiling speakers at a size of 6.5 inches. I have 2 of the RP-280f, 1 RP-450C and 4 RP-250S running in a Yamaha AVENTAGE RX-A1070, they honestly sound great and I have no regrets buying them. Would you say the R.P.-8000f is a step down from rf-7iii? I’m debating rather to get the rf-7iii or the 8000f or the ultra towers...the goal is to not spend a fortune, but at the same time, I want the best lol..the struggle never ends..would appreciate some input on this as you have more experience with these type of stuff..I also watched your video on the SVS ultra towers...I was blown away by the performance from your recording perspective...I went down to a local electronic store that had the ultra towers on display, but they couldn’t play a clip of a movie for me to see for myself..they just said that the ultra towers was best for a 2 channel stereo rather than for cinema/reference level stuff..I’m currently setting the floor standing towers up for a room that is about 20x9.5

In my opinion, based on what I see in this video and another reviewer, I suspect there is some cost cutting happening with the RP-8000f's (the plastic plinth "base" for weight reduction = lower shipping from China costs; and the speaker cloth is meh); and a technical change to the horn was made to bring down some of the detail aka "brightness" some listeners object to with horns. PS. I have the RP-280f and with a warm class ab amp (ATI) they sound fantastic! With a class D they do tend to be on the bright side but I still prefer this compared to dull sounding speaker.

As an audiophile, Klipsch is not on my list, but give the RP-800 100+ hours of use - break-in makes a difference! ////The consensus is that the upper midrange/treble is meatier and less ear piercing than the model it replaces.
