As a retired Broadcast Engineer of 45 years I've built some pretty huge TV production systems in my day. I'm impressed with your YoutTube style, efficiency on getting to the point, value consciousness, production value, and especially your knowledge. Having worked as a committee chairman for Motion Picture and Television standards within SMPTE, I'm all too aware of the accuracy of the phrase, "the nice thing about standards is that there are so many to choose from!" The consumer electronics world is a huge mix of CES standards and proprietary methods. It's amazing the consumer stuff interoperates at all! So, keep up the good work!

I LOVE that front row theater seating. Glad to see i'm not the only one who thinks about the practicality and WAF(wife approval factor) of seating two people without the armrest getting in the way. Well done setup, mashed that like button! Keep up the good work.

I am thouroughly impressed... I use to think I was the home theater king... but after watching your videos.. I have to go back to grade school. currently I am sporting Harmon Kardon 7.2 receiver with Kefs reference 4 series front, center and rear.. Boston Acoustic, di-poles for sides.. sonic sub-woofer... My system is over 20 years old yet it can still kick ass..

J Mar Definitely agree with this assessment of your videos, but would help me, at least, if you could slow down just a bit. Especially in videos like these when you are “mixing and matching” as well as scouting out the best “bang for your buck”...For someone relatively new to the game, it’s a lot of info to absorb on one viewing! But keep them coming regardless!

Definitely a good guide for what I want to do in the future. For me, I would see about using phillips hue strips and bias lighting in the LED's behind the screen. Get those LED's to match the picture that's on the screen for ultimate immersion. Love the setup, can't wait to have one of my own!

I was thinking this was gonna be a half-ass review, but DAMN! Your set up is SICK, and I definitely mashed that "like" button, and immediately subscribed as I'm looking forward to your Synology review, as I currently have my Blurays ripped and compressed to a 4TB drive, but I'm re-thinking this whole thing and am about to go large! Nice work, man!

Yes your setup is a "bang for the buck" as you rightly said. 2 things I wanna ask you here. 1. If you were not to put up a projector, which TV would you buy and of what size and 2. which 4k blu-ray would you buy for playing blu-rays.

Have you ever used a calibrated microphone and room EQ wizard to really dial in your home theater? If you haven't, I suggest trying it out. It made a huge difference in my home theater room. Also, check out mini DSP for parametric EQ for subwoofers. Makes a huge difference in sound quality, especially in seat to seat variance for LFE. Nice room btw.

Nice well thought through setup. Like the automation aspect. But putting a popcorn maker in the area...while popular among HT buffs...I have to wonder--will it attract rodents into your home? Will it? As I don't think you'll clean out the popcorn maker after each time you watch a movie. So I'll have popcorn sitting in the machine over night. Mice get a whiff of that from outside..then they might start burrowing into your home...I've avoiding leaving food in my HT room or even eating or drinking while watching. Tell me how this goes with your setup. :)

Majestechs - Question, can you talk a little about the ventilation system? What have you done or applied to keep the room cool and nicely ventilated without creating more noise or ruining the sound insulation (sound leakage)? Really would love to know your thoughts and thank you so much for showing us your setup. It's beautiful.

Amazing setup. I was torn between the UHD50/60 and the Epson Home Cinema 4010/5040UB, but I think I will go with the 4010 because of the lower input lag compared to the UHD models. That and, I don't know if I'm susceptible to the rainbow effect or not.

This is the way to do it, start small learn how things work, take your time, upgrading as time goes on. As you have a better idea on what you want rather than splashing a load on money at the start. Patience is key to a good HT, one thing I would do is put isolation pads underneath the center speaker, It will help as the cabinet is hollow and can also can angle it slightly upwards towards the MLP. Nice Setup

Any possibility of doing a video for someone just starting out who’s looking for roughly a 7.1.2 set-up (no in-wall or in-ceiling speakers) with a receiver that has 4k & 3D pass-thru and supports both Atmos AND dts:x (My LG TV supports everything under the sun except Atmos so if I get an Xbox One X as my blu-Ray player, it’s not clear to me if this system would pick up Atmos on Netflix and KZbin?). The main info I’d be interested in (& I would think others would as well) is how to mix and match the receiver, sub-woofer, surround speakers, a good center channel speaker for clear dialogue, and Atmos enabled speakers. I am not driven by bargain prices but can’t break the bank either - something mid-range. You touch on some of these issues in this video, but it’s tailored to your own home theater system and some parts that came from friends, etc. I have no idea what criteria to use when selecting various brands (and why these criteria are important), so would it be better to get as much as possible from one manufacturer? How much does room size and shape fit into the selection process, etc. Hope your other viewers would find this beneficial and thanks for your great videos!

I understand and respect your "bang for the buck" approach. I am right there with you. That said, if you watch many 4k Blu-rays I would look into the Oppo UDP-203 to make your projector really shine. If you stream from you library / internet more frequently than it is probably a moot issue. Gorgeous setup btw. I have older Martin Logan speakers (5,1) and Emotiva amperage around a 65" Samsung 9500. I'd like to update the audio and move to Atmos, but that will require finishing my basement and the pocket book screams like a horror movie victim at the mere suggestion. I must live vicariously through guys like you. ;-)

Great set up. You should get some bookshelf stands and bring your rear speakers closer to the seating area. Also, invest in a external 7 channel amp, you'll notice a big difference in your sound and reduce the strain on your receiver and give it ample power unlike the current receivers of today. I suggest the Monoprice Monolith. It's the cheapest and best 7 channel amp at $1500 directly from Monoprice. Also, definitely get the external fans from Cooler Guys. Your receiver must be really hot inside that cabinet working overtime. I have a Denon 6300h so I know.

lol literally a 50k boost to resale. i work in home theater at best buy and thats a sick setup. lol the people who dont understand home theater wont understand the 'budget' part of that projector. ive sold some 7,000 dollar projectors before. i like the setup !!!
