KLJ#44 - EazyPod Talk / Review / How I Clean Mine

Whatta Bout Ye folks, in this video I discuss the EazyPod and my views on it. I have two of them here the one on my main pond is the UV version with the Micro K1 Media inside. I rate this only as a quick clean mechanical pond filter. In this video I run through my cleaning process quickly.

Good run down of the pod. I do like mine. As its my only mechanical filter I do have to clean it a bit more often than I would like. But great bit of kit for the money really. Agree with you, dose bugger all in the way of mechanical, once the water starts to drop half the media is out the water, so any biofilm it's built up is gona die off

That's how I cleaned mine for 4 years. So much big stuff comes over the top that would otherwise be trapped in the middle still. I used to get my hand in there and give it a swirl round (being careful of the sharp edges of course) Good video. Cheers.

Hi Dave thanks for the video on the easy pod. I clean mine with the pipe in and let the water come right up under the overflow before stopping the pump and turning on the air to boil the K1. I have 30lts of K1 in mine as per instructions but sometimes take a while before I get all three sections to boil. I have to keep pushing the K1 down until all three are boiling. I do this twice when cleaning. Keep up the great work 👍

Like you say with the pod its not going to run what it says on the box no way the bio just cant do that but as a mechanical filter they do a pucker job and with the ease of cleaning over anything with foams. And a ideal filter to put on a skimmer to shower line Thanks for filming

I use a standard 3 pod unit. No experience at all with RO sorry. Is an interesting subject though.

Great video mate if you make bigger pond wud you change filters am old school av got knockey 8 Bay 20,0000 litres Japanese brushes and matting 45 kg alfa grog in last Bay no better filters than mine but my water is like drinking water like yours like they say don't fixed it not broken look forward to nx video keep safe mate

In all honesty I would move away from K1 all together. I would get a drum for mechanical and then have static ceramic media chambers over showers. I am a big fan of old school filtration. 👍🏻

U do know u got the height of the pod wrong for a gravity feed one once ur turned the pump off the level should be in the over flows that how it boils better

Nothing to do with height of pod mate. If I it turn pump off and my pond is full it comes to the level of the overflow. However that is personal preference and not the actual advice given on EA fitting documents. As mine is actually a UV which are all pump fed. I converted it to gravity. Thanks for stopping by
