What means the "positive rate" that says pilot after taking off, and before taking out landing gears ?

Positive rate means the vertical speed indicator shows the aircraft is climbing. The pilot flying confirms and commands the gear to be raised.

I watched the first section of this video to LHR but am watching no more due to the annoying music. I'm sure that pilots would not want to fly with that accompaniment and nor do I !
