my thrust washer was lost for a couple of frustrating hours...it had attached it self to the magnet..I felt for it ..but because it was so light weight it moved as I ran my fingers around the magnet...not until I looked inside did I find it..Kawasaki does NOT stock these...don't know how anyone would replace them..just so you know..

Well, I'm glad you found it in the end! I'll have to go check and see if Partzilla stocks them. They are usually pretty good. Thanks for the info! Tom

Is anyone but me bowled away AMAZED that Kawasaki did not simply upgrade the design of the stock "dohicky" THEMSELVES? I mean obviously they are quite good at making ultra reliable high rpm heavy duty motorcycle engines and transmissions etc ...and yet THIS tiny WELL publicized HEAVILY criticized EASILY fixed item remain ignored for decades??? Is it just me or is that just BIZARRE??? OR is it REALLY as defective an original design as thought?? Or is it only a problem on motorcycles that are abused?? Comments? Ideas? I mean stock engines have been run for 50k miles and more without failure...no?

It's a scare mongering policy to make you change it.
