You should see it now. The day after you came in, they started pricing the fixtures and closed off the garden shop completely. All that's left in there is some junk, there's no merchandise left. They tore down the wall that had all the towels and things near the front, the wall that separated clothing and appliances, and the last 2 aisles of toys have come down and is now the place for empty tables and racks. All of the stockrooms except our main receiving stockroom are pretty much completely empty.

The Kmart I work at is at 20-60% off. Though it was 20 to 50% just a few days ago. Our store is quite empty but man do we still have a lot of Christmas stuff in the back and not on the floor yet. We're completely out of electronics (no displays either) and tools. Our health and beauty products are now on like one shelf. What used to be the Men's Department is now blocked off with fixtures. Our Garden Center stuff was moved on to the main floor, but the checkouts are still open, but only because my Kmart is in a mall and the Garden Center is one of the convenient entrances. Same with the pets and towels. It's the Christmas and Halloween stuff that will probably keep us open until our scheduled last day of January 28. This Kmart here definitely has more stuff.

WallieB, I was going to comment about the liquidation company and you took the words right out of my mouth lol, I was at the Fremont Ohio closing last year and a Frozen Anna doll that I almost bought at walmart for 15.99 was "on sale" for $19.99 at that Kmart after being marked down from 23.99! Anybody who doesn't know that they mark up the prices before they mark them down is blind lol. and they wonder why they are going out of business! It's like they say "F*** you for not buying our overpriced stuff in a dilapidated store we will get you one last time before we die!" lol I was just at the Oregon, Ohio (suburb of Toledo) location and it's at 40% right now and still about 60% stocked but with the markups it's not worth going to shop and not film till it's 60% or more! And this is the last Toledo area location in an area which had atleast 10 stores, Toledo and it's suburbs is an area with about a half a million people!

at the one i work at we were still getting trucks of stuff up until last week and the back part of my store is starting to empty as they move stuff around. our price scanner has became a huge dumping ground

Just think, when the last Kmart store in an area closes, it will be selling all the things that didn't sell in the previously closed stores.

Everything about this location screams old and tired. The demise of Kmart is like a death rattle that continues to persist. Sears Holding Corp. deserves all the blame, but will ultimately come out like bandits for killing two heritage brands.
