Here we go again, Kmart fans... After digging a little deep into my VHS archive I came across a store video from Kmart that contains forklift training.
This video has an interesting intro which I would date to the mid 1980s which states the following companies: Bishops' Cafeteria, Furrs Cafeteria, Kmart Trading Services, Huck fixture company, K mi, Kmart Enterprises, Media Momentum Inc, Designer Depot, Waldenbooks, Builder's Square, Kmart. While I recognize many of these, what the heck are the Cafeteria companies?? What is Kmart mi?? And Kmart trading services??? I'm stumped on these companies.
After the intro, the actual video contains a film from Towmotor, a subsidiary of Caterpillar which appears to be from the 1960's called "The Color of Danger". Mildly amusing and I love the hairstyles and old cars.
After the 16 minute mark, a Kmart specific segment is presented which explains the safety certification importance and process. As I recall back in the day, I did have a forklift license at Kmart 3066, but no longer have the card in possession.
Check out the vintage Kmart Garden Shop footage in the video - notice the classic 70's brick that is present on most older stores. Also there appears to be a short segment from Builder's square toward the end.
