honestly really been liking cosmo in doom 2099. fits rly well with the spectrum package, protects you from red guardian, just generally a super solid turn 3. it’s just sometimes difficult to find ways to get priority early with a lot of spectrum decks, and needing to play doom/spectrum turn 6 kneecaps her late game surprise factor.

I'm glad I was lucky and got Doom 2099 on the first try, which gave me the opportunity to save my keys, because the more I'm playing with this card, the more I'm starting to think I might have made a big mistake skipping Peni just to get Doom 2099.

I think it is just a first week syndrome. It is the same with every recent drop. Scream releases and she seems ass, but then shes top 10 decks for 2 months straight. Scorn releases and it has mid wr. Skyrockets in wr and stablishes the new point cealing of the game. Same with Gor. Anti Venom and Malekith releases and they suck, but dominate the midrange archetype 2 weeks later. And so on. People still dont know the best fit for the card and play tier b decks with tier s archetypes overprepared to beat them. As soon as this card gets 2 weeks, it will be strong. I personally hate it, but it will fit as a string standalone card in decks that want to play just 1 card a turn naturally. Including the package of Doom+Doom, which is a strong top end to add for that type of strategy

Doom 2099 can push out the mid range stuff which then Mr negative and combo can come out to play Maybe Wong Namora Black Panther can come back, it runs Namora so it has some location control to stop the Mr Negative Magik, however it isn’t putting out as many points until you are hitting the Zola BP/Wong coin flip because Mr is putting out 32-35 35-38 and 70+ across 3 lanes when “going for it” Namora has to play nocturne on 3 and Mr negative can play Magik later if they see what you are doing - matters less on ladder and more on conquest

Based on my full day of playing. Its a fun deck. It can certainly win games. No question. But its meh in the grand scheme of things. Id much rather play more fun decks that are also better.

My issue is the face up argument; Doom seems to require people be dense and stay in for him to really do well (aka when doom is at his best that means a smart player just leaves and you get 1 cube). Tldr; How do you actually win a 4-8 cuber with Doom 2099??

The ceiling seems like 20-25 points in one location, 15-ish in another and like 10-15 in a third. I think once someone can crack those thresholds it will be better. Which is why the three top decks are the top decks: they have higher point ceilings.

Most people are aware that sticking the new card into an existing deck is generally the strongest thing to do but it’s nowhere near as fun as trying to just all in on the card. People crave novelty and uniqueness and the only time we get access to things that could be like that are via new build around cards and patches. Otherwise it’s just the same shit over and over, they cut off some of the top in a patch but don’t buff the very bottom so we end up with the same decks resurfacing after every nerf, it’s so boring at this point

I got Doom and I was dissapointed. Low power output and you have to build around it, it can't be just slotted in. Rocket and Groot seems like a strong card that can fit in most decks. No brainer

I've been playing him in good machine I like him a lot more than the other 4 cost cards that it usually plays. Also gives us a reason to play Zabu/Psylocke for the lockout.

It's going to be impossible to judge him right now since 8/10 matches are mirrors and every deck also plays Super Skrull and then the result is just open. I added Rogue now to steal other peoples Super Skrulls.

I think the best way to put it is that it's *good* - not "great" - strong 4-drop, that is *honest* Big numbers, but it's not comical, and it can very well be disrupted

@iguacu3517 it gives u a 2nd win condition so ur not just dead if mr negative never gets pulled. In a best case scenario u play him as a 2 4 and doom as a 5 6. Just remember if ur gunna play more that 1 card u dont get a bot

@@dasoupsoup I’ve only been playing a couple months, but have gorr knull Zola mystique taskmaster Jane Zabu psylocke magik, it makes snap/retreat decisions easy and got to infinite pretty quickly. I’m sure people are better at retreating in high infinite, but it’s my most successful deck for cube rate right now. I used to use destroy but people would either use armor/cosmo a lot before infinite or retreat if Deadpool got big.

Yeah It's weak to usagent but then super skrull usually steals the opponents luke and game over. Clog is probably more efficient but then you also only get 1-2 cubes. So overall not easy to counter and very strong scaling. I watch Sizer beat 2099 decks with his move package, but the problem for the casual players is they can't play that deck lol.

I'm torn on 2099 because I spent 3 keys to get him (got the awful spotlight variants at first). With it being such an expensive card for me combined with my horrible luck, I rarely ever draw him before turn 5 which feels awful. I'm playing Zabu and Psylocke only to skip turns or float energy which has lost me so many cubes. Gonna try out that Mister Negative and 2099 deck which at least has an alternative win condition that can actually compete power-wise.
