TGP Attitude Advisory Function (TAAF), data entry OSB 20. Using the scratchpad, you may enter the Attitude Advisory value in feet. Valid values range from 0 to 65000. If 0 is entered, TAAF is disabled. The default setting is 10,000 feet. The TAAF warning will be triggered if the aircraft is below the set attitude and its bank angle is greater than 75° with a pitch less than 0°, and/or pitch angle is less than -20°. The warning consists of a “CHECK ATTITUDE” in red reverse video on both MFCDs. The warning is automatically removed when advisory warning conditions no longer exist.

Kmbt Krl I love your work, keep it up bro. One issue I would like to report is your sound is way too low and it is very difficult to hear you over that loud engine... I would advise you to crank up the volume a bit more (or lower the engine volume) :)

Hi - Thank you so much for your clips - they are very informative and detailed especially for a nub like me. As my hearing is not what it was used to be...:-( I find your cockpit voice masking your own which was a bit in the way. However I enjoyed it very much.

@Kmbtkrl8 жыл бұрын
thanks again. I do plan on more videos, ive been fairly busy lately and production is slow. I want to finish up the basic system tutorials, touch on the CDU a little, and the pribably focus on weapons systems tutorials. was there anything specific you were wanting to see?
@bordeath8 жыл бұрын
+Kmbtkrl hey! Thanks for replying, yeah, a CDU tutorial would be great, I kind of have the basics of it, but watching your videos teaches me a lot more. Looking forward for more videos from you. Thanks!

I agree... turn engine noise way down... I'm on my third tutorial in a row with that ear raping engine sound... I'm losing my hearing :-/ Great work though! Keep it up and I hope you'll revisit these tuts on the release of the A-10 update.

Say I need to find a target but I don't have a waypoint near it? What would be the quickest and most efficient and accurate way of pin pointing that contacts location?
@Kmbtkrl7 жыл бұрын
That's where it gets tricky. If you can visually see the target, you can usually use the TDC on the HUD to set a SPI on the target. It works the same way as slewing the targeting pod, but you've got to point the plane at the target so it's visible through the HUD. Other ways include using grid coordinates or lat/long via the CDU, but that gets complicated.
@tomje70247 жыл бұрын
Kmbtkrl yes, I am currently using both ways, the more complicated but best way in my opinion is by getting the lat/long/height from the F10 map, writing it down, then making a new waypoint on the CDU with it, slaving all to the waypoint then searching around for it within a smaller area, it is complicated at first but gets easier the more you do it, there is a cracking picture guide on the forums showing how to do it, I thought I'd just ask anyway to see if there is any other way to do it that is quicker and more efficient, thanks for the reply!
@Kmbtkrl7 жыл бұрын
Tom Eason don't forget, if you ever do find a target via the tgp that is a away from the waypoint, you can drop a mark point on a SPI you've set with TMS left short, and then access it by switching the dial on the aux avionics panel (aft of cdu) to "MARK" and cycle thru created mark points like you would with steerpoints. Easy way to keep track of multiple target locations too. And mark point "z" is always you last weapons release point, so if you need to quickly require a target you have already dropped ordnance on, use markpoint Z
@tomje70247 жыл бұрын
Kmbtkrl seems complicated! Are there any tutorials on these procedures?

I'm new to these games and don't have the program yet. Just recently found these videos and was wondering if anyone still flies these games and scenarios. Also wondering what is the recommended type of joystick to use and how do you talk to others when playing multi-players?
@pieandmashlover7 жыл бұрын
Digital Combat Simulator World dude. Check the description above. It's continually being updated and new aircraft are constantly being added. I use a Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS throttle & stick to fly but there are alternatives...
@Kmbtkrl7 жыл бұрын
There is definitely a big, active community for this sim. DCS World is their main program, which is free and includes all the base assets plus 2 flyable planes, which are much simpler than the A-10 in terms of fidelity and systems detail. Still very much fun and no cost. There are many aircraft modules you can purchase to add on, (A-10, F-15, MiG 21, 29, SU 27, Mustang, Spitfire, Bf109, Viggen, M2000, F-5E and more...) and each of these has their own little learning curve and unique systems to learn. Multiplayer is very active and there are a lot of servers to play on. Hardware, you can use anything really, but I really recommend using a HOTAS system, which will allow you more flexibility in control settings. They go for anywhere from $100-500 USD. For multiplayer chat, most people use voice communication programs like Teamspeak, Discord, Ventrilo, etc, and there are also programs like DCS Simple Radio that allow you to communicate in game using the actual in-aircraft radio settings.

Thank you very much for the info. I am still looking for a joystick and am currently looking at several including a HOTAS.

You can either go with a cheap Joystick, but you will have to use your keyboard a lot and its very frustrating... Or you can go with a Saitek X52 Pro or higher that will allow you to map everything that you need (and you will need a lot trust me) to be able to play the game as intended... And of course, there are even better joystick out there for those that have the money... The main idea here is, that you should not have to remember what a particular key or button does... Simulations like this one use what is called HOTAS commands. So you map these commands on your joystick, and their functionality depends on the sensor of interest that you are currently using... Therefore one button on your joystick can either enable wheels to steer, or fire the laser or change a missile - all done by the same button. That way you can have the entire jet literally in your hands and you would only need to map these few HOTAS commands - and not the entire list of things you can do with the simulator. Therefore you need a joystick, that has enough buttons to at least map all the HOTAS commands... For me the Saitek X52 Pro, is the best solution in the lower price. It's not perfect - not like the high end joystick, but it will do the job nicely.

@@-_Nuke_- unless it falls apart - its very bad quality. starts with shaking slidecontrols, really bad software and support and other serious issues - so i cant recommend saitek - not x52, not the pro version of it, nore x55, 56 - with basically same issues. which is a shame, because rhino x56 really looks great and is very functional, but ... i think warthog is the way to go. couldnt find any alternative.

I know it is a little late although, the TAAF display on OSB20 on your TGP display is a Temporary Advisory of some sort. I've never used it and do not know much more about it other than it name that I heard in a training lesson. FYI. p.s. are you still flying?
