People are saying that the Sing for You was dedicated for the members that left EXO. In the music video, members start to disappear one by one. Once they disappear you see the members all lonely, depressed and hurt. Ever since 3 members left EXO, the rest of the members had this constant fear and anxiety that others will leave too. It affected EXO so much to the point where there were internal struggles, fights, and depression that fans weren't able to see. Especially, when suho and chanyeol were fighting, you could see suho leaving but chanyeol begging him to stay and punching him to help him snap out of it. of course, as a leader, suho has to accept exo's awards, make speeches for the group and take care of the members, but most importantly, he has an enormous amount of responsibility to keep the whole group as one. he has to make sure everyone is happy and stop fights between the members. so when kris luhan and tao left the group, he started to feel "useless" and "failed" as a leader and wanted to give up; therefore, you can see that chanyeol is trying to tell suho that the members leaving the group was not his fault. you can see all the other members in emotional pain throughout the whole mv. also, i remember kris luhan and tao mentioned that they loved playing basketball so exo members would play together during their free time. sehun, the youngest member in the group, just watches over his hyungs fighting, struggling and lonely so he's in space trying to find the whale. the poem, "the astronaut's whale" explains their strong friendship (with ex-exo members). Even though the whale (ex-exo members) is great friends with the astronaut (exo), the whale is not happy because he is not "home." After the astronaut finds his home, the sea (China), for the whale, the whale is finally happy and the astronaut still cherishes his friendship with the whale. although the ex-exo members left Korea for China, they will still sing for each other and still be brothers

it's based on a poem called Astronaut's whale where a Whale in space realizes no matter how much beautiful space is,it feels like it belongs only at home aka sea but it still appreciates the memories it had together with the astronaut...in here,Kai is supposed to be the whale and Sehun the astronaut..Basically SM is showing us how much the members have to go through when someone leaves but no matter what,they patch up strong again👍 nice reaction though

I know you've heard the Astronaut Whale theory too many times which explain sing for you is a song dedicated to OT12, but that just ridiculous if you think about it because SM would not do such a thing & the moment this MV released was also a bad timing to do that too. I've collected many explanation & interpretation about the song from fellow Exo-L & I think this one matches the most with the MV also the message of the song itself. So basically kai is the main actor in here. He represent loneliness,depression,frustation,isolation & the feeling you holding back to confess to your love. That's why he's the first one to feel sad & depressed when the member start disappearing, he's also the one that "get hit" whenever suho & chanyeol get hit too, you can see closely from his dance. Snow,space & BW video enhanced more the loneliness feeling. The blanket represent his desire of feeling comfortable & not lonely anymore, so does the basketball & his running toward D.O car. Member disappearing is not because they are died, but thats how it seems when someone feels isolated & regretted( happen to D.O & chanyeol). In the end they just need to confess because its not really that bad. That's why there's no kai scene anymore after member start appearing again,suho & chanyeol end their fight,also sehun & the whale finally "have someone to befriend with" because all of them are feeling happy & there's no depression & isolation anymore(kai disappearing). FYI its highly probable that sehun represent Michael collins, USA astronaut who spend "loneliest & longest of 48 minutes of mankind" while the whale represent Alice, an unidentified species of whale who can only emit 52 hertz, a frequency that can't be heard/understand by other whale, that's why its the only one of its kind. Together, these two also added more the loneliness feeling in the MV. This go along with the message of the song that you've to stop holding back your feeling because if you did, you're the one that gonna suffer(feeling sad,lonely,depressed). You just need to confess to someone you love, at least to make you feel better from releasing your deepest feeling. Hope this help!

to let you know who doesn't know it...its about that 3 members who left...galaxy with that whale means Kris because he loved galaxy...basketball means Luhan because he liked playing basketball with members ...and chanyeol's and suho's fight means Tao....that time where baekhyun was sitting in bar with members ..and they then suddenly dissappeared it means that they lost them and baekhyun made us to feel what members felt when they lost Luhan Kris and Tao...

Beautiful and vulnerable) The lyrics of EXO’s winter ballad, “Sing For You,” describes someone who has regrets towards the person that they love and expresses the desire to sing a confession song for that person. But the music video, an entirely black and white production, initially shows EXO’s members enjoying their winter days and then hints to the darker feelings that people repress under their surface. The music video depicts literal loneliness, anger, and misunderstanding through the actions of EXO’s members, some fighting, some disappearing etc. And Sehun explores space as a lonely astronaut who meets a solitary, 52-hertz whale. Ah, I hope so much the MV of Lightsaber is extended 😂. The duration is too short to show their coolness. I am not satisfied with their appearance in this MV.
