Good question, we don’t like to dive too much into the diet. Everyone will be different. But generally eating a whole foods diet will be beneficial for building strength and recovering from training.

Thank you for this video. It would be really helpful if you could please recommend body weight exercises for knees if one doesn't have access to machines. Also I love hiking but had a ligament tear 20 years back for left knee and though I don't have any pain, the current x ray so reduced space between the joints. I don't want to stop hiking. Could you please suggest me exercises to strengthen knee overall with ligaments so that reduced gap doesn't affect my hiking. Would be eternally grateful 🙏

Do the order of the exercises matter? If so, why do the order of the exercises matter while doing the atg program?

In this routine we try to build from the ground up and start with short range and build to long range movements. That being said it’s not wrong to start with a different order than shown here, this is just what we find is most efficient and works best🫡

Would peddling backwards on an exercise bike also have benefits similar to walking backwards? Thanks.
@TheKneesovertoesguyАй бұрын
Clever idea! But not quite the same, as you are not strengthening from the ground up and building through the foot like you would with actually walking. It’s a good idea, some properties might carryover. But nothing seems to beat sled or the backward treadmill for improving pain-free knee ability! That being said, don’t underestimate simply backwards walking alone! Has helped thousands improve their knees!
@dan001427Ай бұрын
@@TheKneesovertoesguy Thank you. The reason I that I asked was because it could have been a good alternative for people who enjoy working out at home but who have limited space. The other option I though of was walking backwards and forwards using resistance bands attached to something static. Thank you, by the way, you've helped me with improving knee strength and reducing susceptibility to injuries, as I know you have helped countless others. You really are improving peoples lives.

Hey ben, can you make a video on periodization? Isaiah Rivera was saying that periodization makes one gradually reach their best potential of dunking while doing olympic lifts and other exercises that have high transfer or conversion towards jumping higher makes a person gain quick progress but plateau later. I've got only 1.5years left and I can only reach a height of 9ft at a height of 5'9". So I don't know if I should periodize or start with other exercises to get my first dunk. As after 1.5-2years I'll graduate from college and wont get to play basketball anymore. It's my dream to dunk atleast once in my college life.😢 Also happy birthday Ben! 🎉

@@TheKneesovertoesguy I currently do all foot exercises for the last 2 years. You didn’t answer my question. Has anyone develop plantar fasciitis after doing all the ATG routines? Since I have improved my tendons and muscle flexibility, could my steps and overall stride changed so much that changed the way I even walk? I took ATG exercises to heart and it changed my whole workout routine

I had total knee replacements May 2023 and April 2024. Is doing split squats good for me to. Do? I don’t have full range of motion yet and getting the knee to fully bend feels impossible. I’m doing yr exercises and walk backwards. If I don’t have room to pull a sled what do you recommend? Thx. Love yr program ❤

Really appreciate the support! Split squats can definitely benefit you still and scaling back with more front foot elevation can go a long way! Checkout this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJOXgaFjr9h5fcUsi=mK6psyjeTbaZBFNF If you don’t have a sled, here are some other options as well: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXnTe6uPqJV8p8Usi=Fr7tdyLNwoXTH7NV

Hey Ben. Love what you are doing. I've been skateboarding for about 20yrs now, and at 37 years old i am definitely starting to feel some pain in my knees. Seeing your content gives me hope that i will be able to do what i love as long as possible. I will definitely be adding these into my workout plan. Thank you for what you do!

I've been skateboarding since my teens as well and I am 41 now. I partially tore my patellar tendon 3 years ago after ignoring patellar tendonitis and just skating through it. ATG's full range of motion strength training while scaffolding it pain free has helped a lot. It's actually what I've been missing for 10 years or so which probably led to the injury in the first place. I saw your comment and I just figured I'd give a fellow skater some hope. After all of this physical self improvement, I don't feel 41, at all. LOL Keep going brother.
