Thank you for this video, very helpful. Is there any reason why you might go medially rather than laterally or vice versa when aspitating?

Thanks for your question. It usually comes down to preference (whichever approach the physician is most comfortable with). In some patients with advanced patellofemoral osteoarthritis, it may be quite difficult to palpate the medial retropatellar space, so I would usually go with the lateral approach for aspiration in those patients.
