Yes because Doom is a arcade shooter... Very simple vs let's say a game like Dead Space where the weapons have different ways to be fired or in military shooter games where the weapons fire modes can be changed.. reason why some games tutorials have more and Doom had less.

Whirty A small correction. Doom has 2 alt-fire mods for each weapon you can acquire and swap at your will. I assume you haven’t played Doom? If you have spare time, give it a try! Doom is a self-aware game. It knows exactly what players are here to do, and lets you jump right into action. Maybe that’s why it looks simple at first, but as you progress gameplay gets so intense you’ll have to carefully manage your resources. I highly recommend it.

I love how the intro shows Doomguy getting increasingly more pissed as he pieces together what's going on First checks the pistol he gets for argent (hell) energy, gets pissed that they're using it, Then when Hayden introduces himself as the leader, he knows he's been messing with hell from the pistol and the obvious surroundings Then that 7:35 moment sums it all up its amazing to watch the storytelling

Dear little kids who think this game looks like Halo, The original Doom came out in 1993 and basically helped invent the FPS genre with the help of Wolfenstein 3D and Quake. Doom doesn't look like Halo. Halo looks like Doom.

+JTelli786 Rather the bland comparison between the art style and the customization. In the old Doom you could change character colors in the options menu for multiplayer. In Halo CE you could do the exact same, in fact almost identically. Not to mention Doom used the Space Marine idea before Halo, so of course Doom is going to look like Halo in some way.

This is a real update of Doom for modern times. It keeps the original Doom's action but makes it more fast-paced, movement-based and story-driven without being generic. It keeps the sense of mystery surrounding the original Doom's story. Doom 3 was spooky and good, but this is more like the original Doom.
