Amazing instructor! He explains the why and breaks down the technique to make it simple. Always a big fan.

Another level when action encourages a response that exposes weakness. Pedro Sauer is a gentle warrior that is so cunning and composed that rolling with him must make you question everything you do because he is likely controlling you like a puppet.

Masterful practitioner and teacher. What an honour and a pleasure it would be to study under Pedro. What I love about the guy is the absence of machismo.

Shout out to Relson Gracie. I learned this technique from him. I look for the reverse arm bar wherever it can be used.

Great instruction, cool sweep. The part I'm a little unclear on is the pulling someone down in side control to create the knee on sweep opportunity - that seems to me like a good way to just stay in someone's side control, pulling them down?

I need advice on this one. I tried like hell but my teammates posture was really tall and so couldn’t break his posture down. I tried to get the sweep any way with his tall posture, but I over extended my arm and got caught up. Does this sweep only work of there elevation is too low?

I cannot get this to work. People base with their free hand and end up with you back in side control.

I don't get it. I am not an expert but one of the golden rules of jujitsu is to never straighten your arm no matter what is going on. so who is gonna make his arm straight like that, much less dealing with someone as skillful as Professor Sauer?

What if the cross face grip is the lapel and elbows are bent which makes it harder to sweep? I think a weak cross face grip will work but on a strong cross face grip this would not work.
@yangtroy18 жыл бұрын
Yea strong cross face stops a lot of things...
@craiczhang8 жыл бұрын
Cross face grip is hard to deal in this way, however, it can NOT stop you from shrimping unlike back collar grip. There are waay too much different scenarios of knee on belly and Prof Sauer is just showing us how to deal with this specific situation. Of cause there is "what if", but that's another story.

He is a red-black belt..... He has almost mastered, if not mastered every technique he likes the best to use. These techniques have been perfected by him, and he can do them flawlessly just like any other red belt. Red belts are masters of their own respected art.

0:22 Wow... That blackbelt either loves to paint his toenails black or its completely damaged. Im really hoping it is nail polish. If not, that is actually quite cringe worthy.
